Already acknowledged the mistake. Thanks.

My dad doesn't have to look things up because my dad knows everything.

Now that Bradley has put Myers in the game, we're gonna take state.
No doubt in my mind.
He can kick a football a quarter mile!
Sorry to see Scobee go, but that's life in the NFL.
I think Caldwell loves having draft picks. You know it wasn't because of his salary, the Jags have plenty of cap space. And I don't get the age thing. Kickers are like golfers - some of them can continue to play at a high level for a long time. Vinitiari is still very good and did anyone see S. Janikowski last night? He can still boom them and he must be about 55 (lol).
Draft picks are gold.

... and actually the mistake was in the 29 of 32.
Scobee was a pathetic 20 of 26 for 76%

Remember when we had drafts of 5 players and they were all reaches? Man.... Good times.
Who's sad about this? Honestly...
Khan jr ran the numbers, smarter to go for two everytime with the PAT moved back.
Well, I got this one wrong. I really didn't think Caldwell would give up his veteran stud and go with an unproven first-year that, frankly, stunk in college and couldn't make an AFL roster last year. To me, this kind of feels like replacing Mark Brunell with John Brantley. I hope I'm wrong again, and Myers is a long-term fixture. I just remember how many kickers we went through replacing Mike Hollis and how long it took the Jags to land Scobee, and the thought of giving up a proven, reliable vet like Scobee for another one of those young guys with a big leg that flame out so often scares me. The Jags will be in a lot of close games this year, and if Myers blows two GW FGs that Scobee would have hit, we're toast.
Quote:its the truth,we have had the most games in lodon, and theres been talk of getting more games in london. it won't be long before they move to london. Khan lied about not moveing the team ever. i say in about 2 years or less we will be the London Jaguars
So trading a kicker means that the Jaguars are moving to London? Riiiiiight...

He's a starter!
Not just a starter. He's...
...a weapon.

I think statistically it was smarter to go for two everytime anyway. Or maybe that was 4th downs...

Scobee was 29th in field goal percentage last year. That's probably where the 29 out of 32 came from.

So invest millions in the stadium, Build those two huge screens, and won the nod to transform the shipyard in order to move? Does not make sense.
Quote:I heard the Jags are going to take on part of the contract to facilitate the trade. If that's the case money wasn't the number 1 reason.
Jags have Cap Space.. Steelers probably don't have much...

Don't mind snowwolf, we've all got our thoughts on it and can surely agree we're losing a pretty certain commodity in Scobee.
As for Scobee... Man, I'm a bit bummed on this one. Really didn't think that this would be the year, despite Meyers' strong showing. Hoping to see we got a 6th rather than the likely 7th but hey, a pick is a pick, last year was definitely a down year and average kickers are a dime a dozen. Though hopefully Meyers is at least that and not the start of us suffering for the next year or two for another Hollis/Scobee.

I think he's taking the Scobee trade really hard. He thinks Khan is trying to get rid of everything and move to London...take the emotion out of it, and I think it's a good deal for us.

It's like the HS football coach featured recently on Real Sports who never kicks...
Scobee was a good Jaguar but let the younger kid have the nod. As someone else said if the majority of our games we are kicking field goals we are losing anyway. Scobee did have an off year last year. With this being the last year of his contract who knows if his agent would try to get him overpaid next season anyway.
Scobee was clutch for the Jags for many years. Last year his performance slipped. This year he didn't really out pace Myers in the preseason and I assume not in practice either. Given his salary and the fact that he would almost certainly hold out for more $$$$$ next year, trading him and getting something in return was a good idea.
Sorry to see him go, but that is life in the NFL.
So long Josh, thinks for the memories and the game winners. You were a great Jag.
Won't surprise me if he scores more points this year than he did last year with us, but still has the worst % in his career kicking in that stadium.
Other thought, and it may have been said, is I'm fairly certain he will leave his family here and just get an apartment there. Probably move back in the off season, and stay here for life eventually.
I was kind of hoping they would keep Myers this year over Scoobe. Had a feeling, but didn't know how they would make it happen. This was the perfect solution for both teams.
May be bad personally, but good for him that he will be on a team that probably goes deep in the playoffs, and maybe to the SB.
