Quote:WR Antonio Brown is rumored to be at the Pittsburgh Airport awaiting his departure flight to Jacksonville.
Haha Scobee for Brown? Sounds fair
Caldwell must have a lot of faith in the Jags scoring TDs over FGs this year.

If you don't have faith in your team scoring TD's over FG's, you probably shouldn't be a GM.
Quote:Can't believe we actually got a draft pick for a kicker. That in itself is amazing.
I am a big fan of giving a young guy with a big leg with no brain scar tissue a shot. Good move Dave.
I'm with ya !!! I'll also be with you complaining "what the [BLEEP] were you thinking Caldwell" when Myers misses the game winning FG vs Carolina in game 1. :woot:
Being a fan is great !!
Pittsburgh can have our throwaways if they want.... "TD not FG's"

Not really. I have mentally moved past counting on a kicker to win us every game.
I wish they could have just packaged anybody drafted by Gene Smith and/or Shack Harris whose foot actually touches the ball during the game and sent them off as well. I.e, Bryan "The ball makes a sound you have never heard" Anger.
Well, between the deals for Gabbert, Monroe, and now this one, TMD certainly can't say that Caldwell never trades for picks.
Hope it wasn't for a 6th or a 7th. Steelers get a fantastic kicker. Really hope Myers is good.

No, I think that's wishful thinking. GMs face reality, just like everyone else. For instance, I bet when Gabbert was Dave's QB, he wanted to hold on to Scobee. But i believe we're now at a point with Bortles where TDs, not FGs, will be the order of the day.
Hate to see Scobee go, but Myers looks like the real deal at the position and at a much cheaper price.
Gonna miss Scobee for sure though. Props to DC for even getting a draft pick for a kicker.

Fantastic?
Should be interesting to see how Scobee kicks in a stadium that is historically one of the hardest to kick in.
Key point here is last of year of contract for an older kicker that was no better than the rookie... They were giving Myers all the looks to see if he could stick and he came through...
Scobee will miss being close to TPC and the weather for the good golf practice.. He'll probably keep his home in Jax I would guess..
Quote:Then trade Meyers.
I thought about this.
The problem is -- Pittsburgh could just wait for us to cut him or put him on the practice squad. Then they could grab him up for nothing, so why trade for him?
the nfl is paying jags off to be a loseing team so they can move them to london. why else would you get rid of one of your best players on the team for the last serveal years.

Go back to sleep
Quote:Lets just hope it doesnt play out like when Monroe got shipped to the Ravens..
What does that even mean?
Scobee hasn't been a guy who never reached his potential here.
For all this post trade love for Monroe, the board was almost unanimous in their calls to get rid of Monroe before it happened. There wasn't this consensus that he was a great starting LT for this team. Quite the opposite. The Monroe love only came after he was traded away, and Joeckel was subsequently injured half a game later. Then all of a sudden Monroe was the greatest LT since Boselli.

Better than the previous GM taking a punter in the 3rd round, expecting to punt a lot. Smh lol

From someone who defends Chad Henne as a good QB, your post full of poor grammar just solidifies that Caldwell made a great move.
Scobee was at like 76% on field goals last year. 29 out of 32. Just saying.
