I figured it'd be for a 6th round pick, which is pretty good considering it's a kicker and we would have had to release him anyway.

A 4th rounder woud ease the pain. But a 6th or less would be a steal for the.......Steelers...

Other teams have had some issues at K too. Tampa, Minny (who just paid their guy)....

I was thinking they were going to move him after the performance of Myers and with Scobee's age and pay probably being a factor too. He's been a great Jag and has been so clutch for us in games. We'll miss him, but it's all about getting younger and better. So we'll see...

Philly as well.

Scobee was kind of bad last year too.  He had a few kicks blocked, and apparently not just due to poor blocking.

Especially an 'older' kicker, in the last year of a contract year... who had a "down" year last year.

 

Although, I think Scobee's value plus Steelers need (and distance down the pecking order) could have forced a silly move (like giving up a 4th)

My sources say it's 3 consecutive first round picks and Lawrence Timmons.

I have respect for what Scobee accomplished here. I cannot get to worked up over any trade for him because he is a kicker.

That is so true.  I remember the first three years of Scobee's career on this message board.  Now with extra points being pushed back, this kid better never come here.

Yeah. It's weird how upset some people are about this. Grow up folks.

Can't believe we actually got a draft pick for a kicker. That in itself is amazing. 

 

I am a big fan of giving a young guy with a big leg with no brain scar tissue a shot. Good move Dave.
