Thank you sir. No one else will agree. But (lord forbid), if Bortles goes down, its going to be sad times again here in Duval FLA.

Honestly. What team wouldn't have sad times by losing their starting QB?
There are servicable and possibly game winning QBs at backup right now. Henne is far from one of those. REALLY far. So they can come in and the drop of is slight and minimum at the worst.

For example, are the Eagles gonna be devistated if Bradford goes down?

No more so than they will be if he stays upright.

The Bills would be ok.

Yeah, but they'll have as sad of times with their starting QB in as they would with their third-string QB in. Wink

I wouldn't be so sure about that. Their offense is stacked and exciting no matter which qb is at the helm. The Panthers and Chiefs would also do just fine with their backup qb.

Blaine Gabbert, for example.
He's still on the team? What a luxury. ..

For the opponent.

Exactly.

I would take RGIII.

Tyrod looked pretty good out there.

Hell.. EJ looked pretty good too.

Cassel looked meh...

ew..... I'd rather have Tebow than RGme

Like Stephen Morris for example.

This might be good news. You see, a week ago Rex was saying he wanted to keep all three, but as this morning word out of Buffalo is saying they're going to release Matt Cassel. I watched Cassel week one and he looked pretty good. Overall, he's EASILY a much better QB than Henne. If the Bills go ahead and release Cassel, the Jaguars absolutely have to jump on him immediately.

Cassel over Henne?

Nah... even if Cassel is "better" than Henne. What you do is put a guy who doesn't know our system, who hasn't been any more successful (outside of one Pats season) than Henne, and possibly puts more pressure on Bortles (by having a more viable option than Henne behind him)

I think they are trying to shop EJ.... I think Cleveland has a need at QB with Johnny Hurtball and Journeyman McCown...

I think Cleveland could make a deal to get either EJ or Cassel...

No one is going to argue (realistically that is) that Henne would ever lead us to a championship. His record just doesn't support that type of optimism in him. Are there better backups out there? Almost certainly, but that doesn't negate what Henne does bring to the table; he knows the system and he is a functional quarterback. He is what he is. He's not a Ferrari... but more like a well used pickup truck. It's undoubtedly true that there are better backups on other teams out there... but there are also worse one's too.
