Looking forward to this kid getting a shot at the KR duties.

Could be exciting.

If he makes the team however, that means one of the RB's, Storm or Toby will get cut.

Bubble officially burst. :ermm:

I thought maybe he had learned how to fold space or something. :whistling:
Wow, this kid could be something special.  Love!

Quote:Deji Karem was a speed demon and didnt stick here. He did make impact plays for the colts though (couple fumbles). I'd rated Grant as a better project.

He's a guy I hope finds a home on the roster and sneaks in snaps. Likelihood is slim.
Deji Karim was not a speed demon. i dont care what he timed.

he did not play to that speed
Quote:Sounds like a Youtube on Secretariat's Belmont as they timed him picking up speed. "Secretariat is moving like a tremendous Machine!" Brings goosebumps just typing it. A great horse that could have been a tremendous running back with that speed.

My dog has elite linebacker skills. I'm talking Ray Lewis. And if Caldwell drafted him, I do not think his job would be safe.
If he can return kicks, we may have just replaced Jordan Todman with a younger and faster model.

...or Bernard Pierce.

I see Yeldon being Todman's replacement in terms of style.  Grant, although he may return kicks like Todman, are different backs.
What is a good average in terms of yards per KR? I would assume close to 30 yards right? Figuring the returner receives the ball in the endzone, he can at least get us starting beyond the 20 yard line.

30 is a Top Three overall ranking in the League last season. 25 1/2 will get you into the Top Ten.
Move out the way Slowby. I read somewhere Grant says he could run between the tackles he was just never asked too.

FBT your bias towards me is starting to show.  I know I am your favorite blogger.

Quote:There's a video of him on Youtube running a 4.02 during a game. Now he was already running as opposed to starting from a dead stop, but still it's incredible considering he was in full uniform. Actually, it was a little over 40 yards because he was running at an angle and they timed him as he gained 40 yards on the field. The kid's speed is legit, and he has great hands making him an ideal 3rd downs back provided he can block.

(As long as no injury occurs) If he doesnt make the team at the start of the season I'll eat my shoe!
Hope he sticks. He looks big and he runs fast, it'll be interesting to see what he does if he makes the team

EDIT: Here's an interesting clip from his spring game. Running start considered, that's still pretty fast

The only way this guy sticks is if he can translate his speed into an NFL kick returner.  He'd be an emergency RB only.

He even slowed down at the end that would of been a 3.9
Not really excited at this point. We've had high hopes for plenty of uknown speedsters.
Elvis Joseph.
The guy started off at Alabama which was odd at first because he looked like a scat back and Saban normally likes powerful runners (i.e. Ingram, Richardson, Lacy, Yeldon, Henry, etc.) but come to find out he does in fact run with a lot more power than his size would indicate. Or he does at times at least. He could be a nice developmental option and I see him being a PS guy out of the gate with Yeldon, Robinson, and Pierce/Storm making the roster while Gerhart will be used as an H-Back. Long term? I'm very curious to see how he develops.

It would seem Grant got Bradley's attention.  I hope he's speed is put to good use as a returner or running back.
