Nah, I just remember living through our prior era when we fixed everything by firing Shack Harris and promoting Gene Smith.

if you suck, we will extend your contract and perhaps even promote you.   #JagsLife
Quote:Glad to see the players were respecting him as they won 1 game under his 7 game OC role.  They also managed to score 1 point more on offense per game under Hackett.

I have a strange feeling that Hackett calling plays out of his own playbook instead of Olson's will stimulate some change.
I don't have a problem with this. Like others, my concern is the losing mentality we have here and keeping some of those coaches. But the coaches we are keeping were position coaches that have now been promoted (Hackett, Marrone, Wash). They were limited in their authority and had to go with the game plan and scheme of their superior which was obviously bad. They don't have those limitations anymore and can now use their own schemes and ideas.
You know, we should just fire everybody and cut all of the [BLEEP] players because they've all been a part of this losing culture and all were on or with the team so they are all are fault.

Am I doing this right?
Who actually hired Marrone, Hacket and Wash in the first place before they got re-hired?

This is confusing.

Just go back to the Marrone / Hackett era in Buffalo.  They have a history.  pretty unimaginative.

Personally, I love watching coaches like McDaniels and Haley game plan against opponents with their 4-WR set (to negate strong pass rushing teams) and at other times their utilization of the TE's to expose slow LBs.

At syracuse, Marrone and Hackett ran a pro system with multiple tight ends, different formations, different running schemes.... etc.

Hackett has spent the majority of his career with Marrone as his HC. so Hackett and Marrone likely would run the same style offense, which Marrone credits much of his offensive style to Sean Payton from the Saints, who is also known to use a pro style system and get creative with the tight ends.

Marrone was also on record saying that he is open to utilizing more of the up tempo and no huddle mixed in with his offense.

So it kind of sounds like everything you laud mcdaniels and haley for is what marrone and hackett are going to give you.

We should produce new fans and quit ourselves because we were part of this losing culture.

Too late.

I can think of a few message board "fans" that need to be fired!   :teehee:

Yeah because we have enough impact as the coaches do
Quote:You are right about the Titans first game, but not about the Colts.

The tone after the Colts game was that he played very well, took what the defense gave him, minimized mistakes, and led the team to a win that would turn around his season.

Pretty much the same tone as many are feeling now going into the offseason...

He did play a little better but he didn't play great in that first game.  I recall a couple of overthrows and his stats were underwhelming.  But he did play a role as a game manager OK; at least didn't throw any INTs.  He played better in the final game even though the Jags got overconfident in the second half and gave that game away.
it's w/e, i'm already not expecting a winning season anyways

..... Have you had Season Tickets for the past 15 years?

If history has told us anything, its that if the fans are happy with the hires, then get ready for a complete disaster(again).

And so you think that line is a mic drop?

Being a season ticket holder doesn't make one's opinion valid or relevant.  It doesn't render their continual negativity justified, either.

We get it.  For about 4 or 6 of you, the Jags suck.  The owner sucks.  Every decision sucks.  The coaches suck.  The players suck.  The uniforms suck.  It's one big Hoover convention.  Do yourselves and us a big favor:  don't renew your tickets and find a team to follow that you like.  Or at least find a way to come to terms with the idea that things might be turning in a better direction.  And find some positivity and joy in being a fan.
I see a lot of unhappy campers and cry babies.   To them I say that is good. The time will soon come that we start winning again.  And the trolls are gone for most of the season.  And that is good.

Well said.

No, but we have a lot more time and $$ invested in this team than random dude posting on this board.
