@priscocbs So Jaguars promote a coach, keep offensive and defensive coordinators and bring in Tom Coughlin to oversee it all. OK>
I'm fine with it since I think Hackett's offense will actually play to Blake's strengths, but talk about laying it all at the feet of Gus. I would have never predicted we'd promote from within at head coach and retain both coordinators.

Seriously, unless Marrone, Wash, and Hackett surprisingly blew the team away in their interviews, why didn't we bail on Gus sooner?
Quote:"The #Jaguars under Nate Hackett since Week 9: red zone efficiency went from 16th to 5th; rushing yards per game from 30th to 5th."

The Jaguars since Week 9 had 1 Win and 6 Losses

Wait, I thought we had the 6th ranked defense

IF we had the 6th ranked defense and only won 1 game in the final 7 with those great stats you cited .... then what is the problem?

Something is wrong ..... we just can't sit here and look at stats

HOUSTON WE HAVE A PROBLEM .... and beating you is one of them.

He may not be a home run hit as a hire but I think he has proven he can at least run the ball. With the new OLine guy and RB coach I think that's where we should focus.

It makes no sense. The crap we seen the past few years cant just fall on Gus.
Considering the offense (mostly Bortles) was the main problem last year, I'm not sure there's enough change in leadership on that side of the ball.  Perhaps there's very few experienced offensive minds that are interested in jumping on the Bortles experiment.  Chip apparently was, but I'm guessing he wasn't willing to be flexible on some things and so Coughlin/Marrone passed.  Hackett was probably the best available and willing option after that.

[BLEEP] ---- I agree with you
The staff isnt much of a problem, Blake is the problem.

dang --- good point dude

Then fire the QB coach.  Oh wait, we just promoted him to OC

... unless you are suggesting that we're drafting a QB in round 1 or 2 which is the only way to justify that Hackett had no chance at QB coach

Hackett used Olsens playbook. He isnt Gus's OC bklyn.

Your talking as if we kept Greg Olsen. We didnt.

Because the 6th ranked defense isn't the 6th best defense. With a terrible offense there's only so much a defense thats bottom 5 in pressures, turnovers and points against can do to make up for it.

I'm still kinda skeptical about how all of this will work. Just hoping Coughlin makes it work.

Why Fire Gus Then?

Ummm where have you been?

Greg Olson, Jerry Sullivan, Tony Sorrentino, Chris O’Hara, DeWayne Walker, Robert Saleh, Scottie Hazelton, Aaron Whitecott, and Daniel Bullocks all say hello.

But let's pretend like none of this happened.

So will Hackett fix Bortles inacurrate duck passes?

I hope we’re all wrong on Hackett. But they kept everyone in positions of power that really matter.

Ok ... then we should have gotten rid of Wash?  lol ..... I agree with your bottom sentence .... what really did we do?  We promoted everyone and gave Dave a 3 year extension.

To steal a song title from Depeche Mode ......TC better be our Personal Jesus

I mean, he looked miles better his last two weeks. As long as Bortles mechanics are good id say so...

You know Olsen, the guy we fired, was the guy that told Blake not to worry about it.

They kept two, one of which ran what Gus wanted and the other who used another coaches playbook.
Quote:How can one person (Gus) be the only person responsible for what has gone on? They kept Caldwell, Hackett & Wash. #Jaguars
