Quote:So because it's not happening to me discredits the point?

You support the government playing big brother and denying rights to people who aren't even sick. That isn't very "freedom fighter" of you.

Why don't you support government mandated flu shots? Influenza is responsible for hundreds of thousands of death each year.

In the case of Ebola people that come into DIRECT contact with confirmed Ebola patients are being observed, and if showing symptoms quarantined I haven't seen anything out of the ordinary yet.

You keep trying to bait me into some kind of outrage over nothing, if anything I'd argue we haven't done enough (securing the border, ending flights to North African nations where this things running wild) it all falls under the umbrella of protection of life ( a role I've told you at least a dozen times I think government SHOULD play).

Not the same thing as mandated shots of any kind. But spin away, try and find some little issue to stump me on, it appears to be your thing.
I just don't see how you can support the quarantine and forced evaluations of someone that doesn't have the disease and shows no signs/symptoms. Seems like a big no-no. Not for pickers and choosers (you), though.

When you stop looking at the world in absolutes and use basic logic and reasoning it's not that mind blowing.

Quote:Obama and co are allowing it on purpose.

They want an outbreak. Otherwise you use common sense and don't allow these people to come over here from those countries.

Ding ding ding. We have a winner in dumbest post on a MB.

Proving common sense isn't all that common. But keep on with your doomsday prepping, it could hit MCDs at anytime. Clearly, some people suffer from dumbarsola.

The POTUS is doing this on purpose? Yes. Just like the last one planned 9-11.

Tinfoil hat with four corners needed.

And these type of people make the Republican party look like idiots.

It's on both sides, the 9-11 truther movement was mostly democrats.

I know a lot of looney libertarians that preach the 9-11 truth movement.

I'm sure you do, it's everywhere.
Quote:What's your question? If Libertarians have a problem with trying to control an Ebola outbreak?

Why not ask your wonderful Federal Government why are they flying Ebola patients back here and not securing the border?

It is in our nation's best interest to bring infected persons to the best facilities in the world for studying diseases of this type, as well as the most capable of insuring containment, especially if they are U.S. citizens.

I disagree, it's in our best interest to isolate ourselves as much as possible from third world diseases. It comes off as non compassionate I'm aware of that, but the reality is these disease's blossom in the third world for a reason, bringing it over here to study and contain it is asking for trouble. Just look at the case in Dallas, even using all the precautions, one unknown mistake and it's spread. This nurse won't be the last one to catch it here state side either.

There's no cure for Ebola, everything I've read says it mutates to fast. Even if you some how stumbled on a cure for one person the third person to get it that cure wouldn't work because the virus mutates to fast.
There is no cure, yet. A cure will not be discovered in a field hospital, nor can treatment methods effectively studied. Our borders can be secured proactively by finding a cure or vaccine.

The Dallas incident is a red herring. We're talking about the government bringing patients in, where there is a much better chance of protocols being observed.

One thing the Dallas case does prove is that Ebola will come here. It is much better to study it here than try to keep it out, because that ain't happening.

Now it's not happening, it's here no changing it. But absolutely we could have kept it off our borders. Simply doing what Air France has done and refusing to accept flights in and out of west Africa would've kept it out off our shores.
Now I can't fly to West Africa?? So much for freedom, Eric.

Sure you can fly there, we just won't let you fly back into the country. It's called border control. Something you establishment guys don't seem to grasp.

Agreed. I was pointing out specifically TMD and even you in this thread though. I don't want to generalize it so helps to be specific.

Actually some expert was on TV (can't remember who) saying why what you just said is the absolute worse thing you can do. Without help the disease most certainly will flourish and spread anyways. And he said this has been shown over and over again.

Eric preaches freedom which is hilarious since he has all kind of laws in his free world.

Seems the thought process behind sealing the border is short sighted as most things are with public opinion. People don't care to do their home work. They just react without thinking.
In keeping with the topic:
