Quote:Have you known me to be any different? Everyone in my book is open to praise or criticism. The problem with this board is that we've stunk for so long that we are delusional when we see some semblance of decent play and we want to over hype it as great play. But we as fans can't call a spade a spade.Spot on.

On the pick 6 he got fooled. He said he checked out of the original play because he read one thing. LeBau fooled him. 17 other rookie QBs understand. His defenses are notoriously complicated.

Yep, the Steeler's D isn't what it's been in the past but Lebeau is legendary for confusing QB's. That's why I thought Bortles performance was average for a rookie. Would still like to see him push the ball down the field more. The Steelers were sitting on the short routes after halftime.

Wow, I expected this to take a couple more weeks at least! LOL!!!

This thread is why I can't stand reading this board most of the time. Bortles is a rookie. We are going to live and die by a rookie, starting in his 2nd career game. Heck, our entire offense is comprised of rookies. There will be growing pains throughout the season.

There is no place for that kind of logic here.

He consistently threw high whenever he got in the red zone. Rookie nerves, I guess.

Or he didn't want to make a mistake that would have cost us 3 points.

If some of you guys are so fired up, do something about it.. Make some picket signs and head down to the stadium, call the local news stations and get them down there to show everyone on TV you mean business..
I promise, I won't laugh at you..

It wasnt just in the red zone. He's almost regressed since his first outing. We might need to go get a legitimate QB guru coach in order to avoid another bust scenario. Borltes has the tools and mobility, work ethic and willingness to learn and be coached. Those are qualities that would be a shame to waste.
