Quote:Good news. Ghana seem to be falling apart ahead of their big match...

I guess that is good so we can see what happens with Ghana first

INSANITY IN BRAZIL
Re: Ghana

"On Wednesday, the national government sent in excess of $3m (£1.8m) in a chartered plane to Brazil to pay the squad following their threat to boycott their final group match against Portugal if they did not receive their money."

Good news with two Ghana guys being sent home. One was already out due to yellows. Boateng is definitely a loss.
FIFA gets a backbone. No choice on this stage though imo. Suarez suspended for 9 games and 4 months for biting incident.

Anyone actually try sending their boss that excuse Klinsmann sent out? Even as a joke?

That pretty much eliminates Uruguay from contention as well.

I am with you.
I was expecting a least a 10 game ban for Suarez, that's what he got last time.

That was by the league right? Not FIFA?

Yes

Definitely. And good news for Columbia.
I think Suarez deserved a longer ban.

I agree.  If you have bitten three people, and who knows what that is off the record, then you should be gone at least a year.
I'm pretty hyped right now. Lets go USA

UGH Germany don't beat us too badly

The ESPN feeds right now are horrific.

Quote:Yup, been around the news here. Pretty crazy. I love it.

It's nuts the buzz for the game tomorrow here too. A noon game, soccer, in the U.S. and the country is buzzing. There are 15-20 watch parties around town, multiply that by, well I don't know what the number would be, but multiply that by a large number across the country and the amount of eyes watching will be crazy for the day and time of the game.

I know NOTHING about soccer, and I'm watching this. I think soccer might win me over one day, I just don't understand it right now.
All these people at the World Cup in Brazil did they buy packages to ALL the games or do they have to buy tickets to each individual game?

Most tickets are single game only. Though the national federations often sell package deals where you can get tickets to all three group games of their national team. I know the Dutch federation works with a travel company to set up an Oranje Camping every tournament.

This is a bad game to watch if you're getting into soccer. Neither team will play to their full potential since a 0-0 draw is beneficial to both teams.
