Quote:I was being facetious to the troll. But according to him that's how it should be, yet I doubt he'd agree to it in the NFL.

I didnt catch onto that, but there are more than a few in here who believe that.
So is it possible the US and Netherlands will ever play?

They will face each other in the semifinals.

Doubt you'll make it past Argentina in the quarters though.

Idk,,, Netherlands has to play Mexico (a team with a lot of passion and excellent playmaking as of late, especially their goal keeping).

Not sure the Dutch will make it that far,, lol. Well, they may if they start flopping more than usual,, hahahaha

NED vs Mexico should be a fun match.

Doubtful for US to make it that far, but you never know.
Korea might very well be the worst team in this World Cup.

No way, Nederland will steam roll Mexico.
So we have a date with Belgium on Tuesday. Hopefully Klinsmann has learned from that friendly last summer against them.
Quote:Most likely when Fabrice Muamba had a heart attack and almost died I'd imagine.

Nope. Bristol City vs Gillingham on a rainy Tuesday night in League One. Similar though - and there was an ambulance on the pitch...

Just like Brazil steam rolled Mexico? Oh,,

Of course I jest about NED, they are very tough. But,, the way Mexico is playing right now (the last few matches), it wouldn't shock me to see a very good game (especially the way this WC has gone).

And with the way they have played the past two years, I would not be shocked to see them lose 3-0

I guess its a good thing they are doing well.  When the team struggles, their fans have been known to throw trash and bodily fluids on opposing fans

Quote:A team loses yet they still advance because another team lost in a separate game. That is wack.  Third world game with rules made up by third world  brains.  I'd rather watch preseason nba, nfl.

I know your childish persona is similar to TMD's in that you just post to get attention, but don't you understand that in all leagues, especially the NFL, you can win by losing?

I guess you don't pay attention to the NFL during week 17.
Quote:Bradley has been a huge dud

Quote:he isn't that good, but he is all we have.  we don't have anybody better on this roster to take his place.

Bradley has not had his best tournament, that is for sure. He is though a very good player who has done some very awesome things for the USMNT, and in his club career. He has typically been the key cog in the middle of the field for us. Keeps things moving, good defender, smart.
Quote:oh ok, but what could possibly make going one way more favorable than another?  wind?

We do it in football too, and basketball, and hockey, etc.
Quote:I think we should have kept Dempsey in the midfield instead of making him the lone striker, but I guess he is still playing well

That is the problem with having no true backup for Altidore... I mean, Johannssen or Wondo or one of these other guys are obviously not getting playing time.  Klinsman must not think they can handle it.
I realllllly like Johansson. I would love to see him in there. Great finisher.

I say the game is decided by one goal. Mexico is confident right now, and playing well. Don't let the group results for you. B wasn't very good at all when all was said and done.

Not in one overtime though.  Nobody switches sides in football, hockey, or basketball OT.

Mexico has not been good leading up to the WC. However, they got lucky to get in, and since have been playing very inspired.

Yes, some of their fans are ludicrous. But that doesn't take away from how they're performing right now.

I don't think the Dutch will throttle them. I think it'll be very close, especially if Ochoa keeps up his stellar keeping.

NED are likely to win. But I wouldn't be shocked if Mexico pulled it off.

I heard an analyst say that Mexico hasn't been to the Quarterfinals since the '80s? idk exactly when.

Could this be the year they break that streak?
Soccer fans are unreasonably defensive.

Quote:It happens in the NFL as well, you do know that right? The playoff standings make this happen every year.

We'll all act like that doesn't matter.

Beat me to it
