Quote:Is that what you want, someone to admit some games are boring? Every sport has their boring games.
Every sport does. Correct.
Soccer just has more.
Quote:At least I can admit that some baseball games can be boring....
Soccer fan is all uppity and can't/ won't even admit that the US/ Germany game was like watching paint dry....
You've had a handful of people already admit that here. You are lying.
Quote:Actually the US Germany game represents the bigger point here.
Only to your agenda. It had nothing to do with what you quoted and were responding to.

Because you watch so much of it to know, admittedly right?
The funny part about this is that it really boils down to knowing the game. I'm no soccer guru, but I get the basics.
I wrestled in high school and it was the same thing. You always heard people say things about the singlets and blah blah blah....then they would go and say it was kind of boring. My mom loved wrestling once she got to know what was going on. It's one of the more exciting sports once you get the basics.
TMD because you dont want to learn the basics, or value the overall game of soccer.....you'll never get it. At this point, you have let your opinion be known...move on.

In your opinion
MLB is about 10x more boring... FACT
he's done trolling I guess
That game wasn't boring at all.

Not to me either. Lots of attacking, both sides were going after it. Given what was on the line, it was pretty good. Things got hairy there. I found my son and I watching the last 30-35 minutes of the Portugal-Ghana guy a bit more then our game. Knockouts now, good stuff.
But, to each their own, I just don't understand the diatribe. I think it truly is because soccer has come on so strong here in America the last 5-10 or so years. Look no further then just the MLS. It's exploded.
A team loses yet they still advance because another team lost in a separate game. That is wack. Third world game with rules made up by third world brains. I'd rather watch preseason nba, nfl.
Moving on from that boring discussion...
Chances of beating Belgium ? I think they are very beatable. They have some outstanding players but not as organised as a side like The Netherlands or Germany.
Keep it tight and you might pull off a shock...

It's a group of four, round robin, hardly a new concept.

do you ever not troll?
Anyway...not a great performance but the US advances from the Group of Death. Not too shabby.
Quote:So we lost but we're still good. Hopefully the next game is more interesting. This one was pretty boring.
It should be. They're to the Knockout stages now,, which means that it's win or go home.
No more of this "play for a tie for a group point," or "losing is OK as long as the other game is going our way."
Have to win every match now.

Yeah Belgium has been kind of underwhelming. I can see USA winning

Belgium handily beat the US not too long ago in a friendly. Belgium is pretty good. But, I think the US could win this one. Bradley has to be MUCH better than what he has shown in the group matches. He's been a real disappointment so far , to me.

And while they have their strengths, Belgium aren't the sort of side to play for a tightly fought one-nil... (Not deliberately anyway, they just have too many attacking players)
Someone explain the Yellow Card thing to me, I know it's like getting a foul but how many are players allowed to get? does it mean they're suspended for the game?

So how does the "Overtime" or whatever it's called work? I've seen them line up and take what looks like penalty shots before they go back and forth until someone wins?
