Quote:This was probably the most telling thing from his press conference. I`ve always felt Khan was handcuffing Dave with Gus the last 2 years.

So much for letting the football people make football decisions.

It does not make sense because Caldwell was the guy who hired Bradley.

I want to like you but you have to change a lot of the things you do sometimes. Kind of like my fiance.

LOL Break up with that woman if she is too annoying to live with.

If other people were willing to treat me with respect and stop doing what makes me mad it would be much easier to change my ways. I can't do it alone, unfortunately.

Last time I checked Khan bought the team not Dave.

Dave clearly said He wasn`t as comfortable with Gus as he was others not was out voted.

It does make sense. Caldwell is going to do what the owner tells him to do. The owner is the ultimate decision maker.

I think caldwell covered that in his PC there  post machine.

And quit running for cover with that thread in the sideline section....just admit you love trolling threads and

sometimes stating the obvious just to add another post ...or two....or three.

Dave said that today, not four years ago.

When I am talking about football it is obviously not trolling.

If you want respect you have to give it, I`ve been posting on here since August and have yet to see you do anything but act like everything is gum drops and rainbow pooping unicorns with this team which it clearly isn`t.

and here we go again.... any topic posted is hijacked by the "real fan" evaluator.

EDIT

Forget it. I'm not going there in here.

I fail to see how when he said it changes anything.

You do understand after you get a job the worst thing to do is say "I think the guy we got to coach was bad but the owner wanted it so hey what are you going to do"
Quote:Dave said that today, not four years ago.

Why does that matter?

Saying it now makes sense. He couldn't say it four years ago.

If you're talking about football ....you're trolling....especially with that "real fan" nonsense.

Only that wasn't actually what he was asked.  I'm waiting for the presser video to be posted (or a transcript)  in order to be certain, but it seemed like the reporter was axing if Dave may be OK hiring someone outside of his "circle."  Someone he didn't know personally or professionally or hadn't been keenly aware of prior to the search.

While it seems clear that the Bradley hiring was somewhat of a group decision, Caldwell did not just come out and say "Gus was not my guy."  Not at all.

Of course I know that.

The video is on NFL.com and he was asked if he would hire someone he wasn`t comfortable with and said yeah I did that with Gus

http://www.nfl.com/videos/jacksonville-jaguars starts at 19:32 of the video

I didn't come away with that as the feeling that he "wasn't comfortable" with Dave.

The context was whether or not he had a prior relationship with him, whether he knew him and/or had worked with him prior.

I believe that is what Dave was referring to in response to being asked if he would hire someone he had no ties with - which was the context of his response.

It was certainly not "comfort" as in I did/did not want him.

He said he didn't know about him prior to the interview, and Gus nailed the interview - and that was the basis for the hire.  Not prior ties.

I'd take Todd Haley tbh.
