Quote:I like TC, but I fear Is Coughlin the old girlfriend you dumped years ago and sometimes you wish you didn't.
The old memories of this girl makes you want her. Then you decide to Facebook her, go on a few dates and pretty soon your back into a full on relationship with her.
Then about 6 months into the relationship you remembered why you dumped her. She's not what you remembered. So you want to dump her again but you got her pregnant and you're stuck being a baby daddy.
Yeah but the reason this ex got dumped is because they weren`t good with money. This time they won`t have access to the money.
I'm liking what I'm hearing from Caldwell. Telling it like it is, and wanting the best. Doesn't care about feelings at this point. He should stay on atleast another year or two. I really believe Bradley is the sole reason this team is trash, and the regression of Blake. I could care less if Blake is here next year though. Dude can't even throw, and his confidence is gone.
I'd prefer Coughlin as a football ops guy, but he would be good as HC. Wouldn't cry about it.
Coughlin and a young gun offensive coordinator to be next in line when Coughlin retires would be great.
Invaluable experience for a guy with head coaching aspirations.
I wanted Caldwell to get another shot at a 2nd HC and thought he would. Now that's it's pretty much all but said that he's going to get that 2nd shot, I'm sure he understands the position he's in.
Him basically saying that none of the players are safe, or guaranteed anything is absolutely what you want to hear. If you try and force your players onto a coaching staff (soon to be), it'll severely limit the candidates.
All coaches think they can fix any player, but at the end of the day, they all want to use "their" guys.
I'm sure Caldwell knows his leash is going to be real short this go around. Just like Bortles' leash is going to be really, really short next year.
Quote:I think even he realizes he's in no position to demand anything from anyone. His only hope is to find a new coach who gets the team winning which in turn will save his butt.
It seems like Mr. Khan has made it clear that Dave will follow Gus if he makes a bad decision on our new coach. It also appears that it is not in his interest to mandate any personal decisions on the new coach with regard to Blake. Dave did say he still has confidence in blake but that decision will be up to the new coach as to if Blake is the starter.
Quote:It does make sense. Caldwell is going to do what the owner tells him to do. The owner is the ultimate decision maker.
This may be why Dave has a second chance if he was not on board with hiring gus. Khan is not a stupid man and he may realize that dave was right to question hiring Gus. When you have a bunch of young players you need a experienced coach to mold them and hold them accountable for thier mistakes.

Dang man sorry to hear that
Quote:I do not. The man is 70 years old. That is like saying WU Tang Clan or Onyz style be still relevant today. Things change. And need a guy who is younger and has a proven track record. Tom would be a stop gap coach. Cause I can't see a coach 70 playing 5-10 more seasons.
Age at some point has to come into play. If he was 60 be different then 70 or if he was 50.
Dick Lebeau is 79 and killing it right now in Tennessee

Um, you don't think better coaching will help Blake get his confidence back?

Oh please, we don't need that here. Don't forget not everyone on this board has whatever a male unit is.

Should he have said Johnson Lebeau?
This message board is filled with Lebeaus.

LeBeau without the first name is good enough. Everyone knows who he is.
Quote:Vince Lombardi was a great coach who won multiple Superbowls in the past as well. Why don't we just dig him up and prop him up on the sidelines like "Weekend At Bernie's" so he can be our coach?
I would take that over GUS

There's more than just one LeBeau in this world... He could be talking about Garrett, or Phil, or even Edith.
