Quote:Only if his last name is Cowher.  I wouldn't want the cheater anywhere near Jax.

Don't kid yourself

They all cheat.  In the last 2 weeks, the Giants and the Steelers, for example.  Last offseason the Falcons and Browns.

Not to mention the numerous times others like the Ravens and others for violating the practice rules and CBA.

They all cheat.
Quote:The Steelers would block us from trading for him, of course LOL.
If I was caldwell I do it for kicks.
Quote:Wouldn't that be illegal though? Or does the rooney law not apply to trade for coaches.

The Rooney rule is the minority interview one.

Yea they all deflate balls and steal playbooks and record other teams in live action right?  Cause the pats were caught doing all three.

You are not looking at it through a Steelers perspective. Welcome to reality.
I just hope they didn't fire Gus this week because they want to bring in The Mullet.. unless their plan is to bring the Mullet in, and then torture him through the worst form of torture available to mankind: Turn him into a Jags fan, and make him watch the Jags play football.

You know why we fired Gus Bradley: he is a bad coach and needed to go.
Quote:Savage is a 3rd year 4th round pick who was projected to go as high as the 1st round, was groomed for 3 years, Allen is a 6th round pick who prob isnt ready to play.

You guys begging for Allen  would be in for a rude awakening if he goes out there and you will see some awful qb play.
We already see awful QB play week in and week out with Bortles, but at least we would know what we have with Allen.

No what will happen. Our receivers who drop everything will magically not have butterfingers no more.

It's possible Khan had a bet with another owner that he would/wouldn't be the first to fire his HC.

With Fisher gone first, the bet was won.
Caldwell said the right things. Now we need to see if he does the right things. In my opinion, the Jaguars need to have the turnaround that the Chiefs made after the 2012 season or he's gone.

I agree.  Otherwise, there will be another scapegoat.

If coaching was the only problem (since the HC was the fall guy this go 'round,) then it's only a coach it should take.

That was honestly my biggest take away from the PC.  Dave's been in the shadows for some time now and hasn't really been heard from.  Hearing him talk today, gives me a lot of confidence in him moving forward.

I never saw him as the problem, and his statements regarding Gus further solidified that as Gus WASN'T "his guy" as many thought.  He was comfortable with the decision, but the way he said it, awkwardly I might add, seemed like maybe he wasn't completely sold on him at the start, but Shad, Tony and Mark were.

Ultimately, he did exactly that.  Said the right things.

Now, let's see him DO the right things.

He said the right things when he was hired, too...

<p style="margin-left:40px;font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color:rgb(68,68,68);font-size:1.167em;">Caldwell said he’s going to bring “a track record of success” to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

<p style="margin-left:40px;font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color:rgb(68,68,68);font-size:1.167em;">“From my time in high school, college…My time in Indianapolis, my time in Atlanta…I’ve always continued to be part of a sustainable winner.  I’ve never endured a sustainable losing team.”

<p style="margin-left:40px;font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color:rgb(68,68,68);font-size:1.167em;">He said the benchmark for his success for the team will be “continuous improvement.”

<p style="margin-left:40px;font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color:rgb(68,68,68);font-size:1.167em;">“Even when excellence is evident, I still want us to continually improve,” Caldwell said.

So far, he's failed reaching his boastful goal of "continuous improvement."  Jaguars under Dave are:

4-12

3-13

5-11

2-12 (so far)

He'll need his interim to go 2-0 just to keep up with his four wins a season average.

You're quite a few years behind in trying to hold him to his promises...

The fact that Caldwell is charged with finding a new HC tells you he will be retained.

How on earth do you still find a way to frustrate me when you aren't even quoting me but someone else?

MD for MJD was obviously referring to him being gone in the LONG RUN...Why do you not understand that? I just don't understand why you are the way you are sometimes...

Lol
@jasoncolebr #Jaguars also have Kyle Shanahan on their list of coaching candidates. Obviously, he'll be popular.

I thought you liked me. To understand why I am the way I am, check out my now-locked thread in the Sideline section.
Quote:Dave was asked about hiring someone he may not be totally comfortable with, but others (Mark, Shad, Tony) are...

"I did that with Gus"...

Basically confirmed Gus wasn't "His guy" as much as we all thought.
This was probably the most telling thing from his press conference. I`ve always felt Khan was handcuffing Dave with Gus the last 2 years.

So much for letting the football people make football decisions.
