Quote:Your first line is the most condescending thing outside a JDub around here today. Type out all you want, but nothing you say indicates that "people need to realize" anything. You have no inside knowledge unless you are in fact Shad Khan. You have an opinion. That's nice.
You are a very angry person. Good luck with that.

Caldwell has a very short leash. I do have an opinion and I like to express it just like any Jaguars fan here. This next hire wont be on a 4 year plan, it will be a win now approach.

Wow, arrogant, condescending, and judgemental. You're the whole package there Shad.

You dont irritate me, thats why you only get one liners.

Yep.....thats the reason. But maybe we could discuss this in more detail on my yacht? I could get my helicopter to fly you.

Cool, pick me up at Lynch's.

No problem! (:
Quote:I actually quite like most of the things about Dave and I defended him last offseason, but I can't for the life of me understand why out of all of the bad GMs in NFL history he deserves to be the first one to make a 5th straight top 5 pick.

Because we dont know the circumstances over the Bradley retention last year.

It's not about deserving it.

He was just hired by a first time owner that takes an unconventional approach.

I hope it pays off.
Yea, trying to hire a marquee coach that's willing to potentially hitch his wagon to Dave and Blake for a year doesn't sound as rosey and easy as advertised.

What a mistake to bring Dave back; after 4 consecutive draft picks in the top 5 is followed by a 2-14 season, and yippee, another top 5 pick... What's the definition of insanity again?

I refuse to believe that Gus was the only one making the difference between 2-14 & 8-8. To me, Dave is nearly equally at fault, which is why next season is almost assuredly going to be another 17 weeks of nightmares.

I just don't understand the potential value the organization sees in sticking with this guy.

Well, clearly Khan believes that Dave Caldwell will hire a better coach this time and also solve the QB issues that cost us several wins this season.

They value him because they believe he  accumulated enough talent to get another shot.

Obvious I know, but you seemed to need to hear that.

Dave missed on Blake. That seems fairly obvious.

However, he has hit on a lot of other prospects and if the coaching can improve, this team will be better. They need a coach who will play to the strengths of their players. Gus NEVER did this. He was stubborn and stuck to his guns which ultimately got him fired.

No defense in 2015.... "Let's just continue running this Seattle type defense."

No run game in 2016 and a QB who turns it over.... "We need to establish the run."
Things should be a lot better.....pick up a RB to help out Ivory and TJ.....solve the QB problems.

Looking for 2017 to look like a real team

Quote:Has Wash done enough to consider being retained?

HC will have autonomy on that, but I'll give my recommendation.

I'd like to see Wash stick as the DC, but if they do make a change there, I hope it works out that he's still the DL coach. Wash at the very least is easily among the top few DL coaches in this league, although the way our secondary has been playing he's proven to be just as capable being in charge of the entire defense.

Quote:I thought you liked me. To understand why I am the way I am, check out my now-locked thread in the Sideline section.
Asberger's and reading comprehension aren't the same thing.
Quote:And I will disagree for $100. Reason being, he has not produced a winning season since 2012. So if you are saying Tom is the hottest out there. Can we get substance to back that. Or just talk? Hi I am Teal Time aka ctjags. Nice to meet you.

Tom Coughlin has had 3 consecutive losing seasons, a 19-29 record, and has been unemployed as a coach for a year.

The last time Tom Coughlin was fired/hired as the Giants head coach he had 3 consecutive losing seasons, a 19-29 record, and was out of football for a year.

Just saying.

He's consistent?

Two Super Bowls for the Jags!
Quote:I dont care what anyone says, I have always respected Dave Caldwell. I admit, I am a fan of him and I was really happy when he was hired. I know people are upset, I know the results are awful and the team has completely melted down, but I still believe we can turn it around.

It wont be a popular opinion, but I'm glad Caldwell is getting another chance.
I am in agreement with this.

Yeah, just solve the QB problems. Simple!

I think it's going to take more than one year to iron out the QB mess, as the draft and free agency don't look to be be real strong in 2017.

Help is not on the way?
