Look for players to play harder these last two games now that their jobs are on the line.

Quote:What most people on this forum never want to notice is I judge current Jaguars against past Jaguars instead of this team for 10 years against that team for 10 years.

What you never seem to notice is that nobody really cares.

Quote:That is basically what I said.

No. Saying all signs point to it happening is trying to say it was implied. Caldwell wasn't implying anything. He straight up gushed about Coughlin.

Exactly.
I like that we did it before season's end. And it's good that Dave is getting calls now; instead of making calls...... That's really sad if you think about it..... lol oh where we were............. #ThanksGene

I'm a little more excited at where we could be going forward now.

Would you guys be happy if Marrone was selected as the head coach?

Let's see what he does with his extended interview.

He wouldn't be at the top of my list, or even in the top five right now. There are better options.

No.

I believe Marrone is a decent coach.  I want more than decent.

I want Coughlin.
Mike Derocco (sp) ESPN reports that Caldwell would consider trading a draft pick for a coach.  Interesting.   I wonder if he's talking about Peyton from the Saints?

And what kind of pick would you give up to get a coach? A first?
Quote:I want Coughlin.
I do not.  The man is 70 years old.  That is like saying WU Tang Clan or Onyz style be still relevant today.   Things change.  And need a guy who is younger and has a proven track record.  Tom would be a stop gap coach.  Cause I can't see a coach 70 playing 5-10 more seasons.

Age at some point has to come into play.  If he was 60 be different then 70 or  if he was 50.

He also followed that with "You'd have to find a coach that really wanted a change from his current organization and met the trade value being asked. That's a very hard match to make."

He sounded like it was a nearly impossible longshot if you ask me.

Shut your mouth.

Well its true. Wu Tang was huge back in ct back in late 90's.
Coughlin would be absolutely perfect for this team. Especially for a guy like Dante Fowler.

Best scenario would be Coughlin and then have a new OC/DC under him that eventually takes over when Coughlin is finally finished.

I don't care that he's 70. The man is itching to coach again.
I wouldn't trade a 1st Rd pick for a coach unless their last name starts with Beli and ends with chick........... 2nd rd, there's more options.

Perfectly said. Agree 100%

Caldwell was asked would he consider trading for a coach. Didn't bring it up himself. He said he would first have to see if any coach's want to come here and second if there are any coach's worth trading for

DiRocco. Until Caldwell says it himself, it is just hot air.
I'm going back and forth on the Coughlin hire.
