It serves no purpose. The new staff will have an entire off season to evaluate every player on the roster.

We know there is no reason to throw a rookie in for the last two games with an interim head coach.

All Jaguars fans want to win. That is the definition of being a Jaguars fan.
Quote:Also, flat out, does not put a mandate on coach for ANY player to play.
Options will be limited to players Dave signs, so take it with grain of salt.
You get 2 games of regular season game film on file for the new staff to better evaluate the entire roster.  That is value to the organization.

Because a guy who hasn't taken a snap since the preseason, and probably hasn't even gotten more than a handful of reps is magically going to win something? Seriously, at this point, winning is irrelevant, and it's silly to think Allen is this magic bullet.
I'd really love to be a fly on the wall during the Caldwell/Khan meeting to discuss potential coaches. Would really be curious who they want to target and who has already called and expressed interest in the job.

There's little value in that at this point. Allen isn't a solution to anything right now.
Quote:Apparently Caldwell because he will hire the new coach.

Well that is if Coughlin is interviewing for the HC job. If he's interviewing for President of Football Operations I would think Khan would do the interview. Wouldn't make sense for Caldwell to do the interview for his new boss would it?

Well.. obviously the coach is limited to the 53 players on the roster.

Point being, Caldwell has not and will not force a coach to start someone because he wants it.  That's the coaches call.

I think you're jumping the shark on that one.

Winning helps attract coach candidates, actually. They want to supervise talented players who try to win. There is no such thing as an irrelevant win.

I agree with everything you just said..... I was just stating a reason.

Blake will ensure we get the third pick in the draft.

If you have been reading this thread, you know all signs point to Coughlin getting an interview for the HC job.

Maybe, maybe not. Anything is possible at this point.

No he won't. The whole team loses. Also, there is no guarantee the 49ers will lose out.

It's one of 32 jobs in the world with the title Head Coach, NFL. Winning a couple of meaningless games after losing 12 so far isn't going to magically make the job more appealing.

The good news is the team doesn't have to quit to lose two more, unless you're implying that they already have, in which case your point is even more irrelevant.

No signs required. Caldwell flat out said they'd be talking to Tom.

What most people on this forum never want to notice is I judge current Jaguars against past Jaguars instead of this team for 10 years against that team for 10 years.

That is basically what I said.
