Quote:A GM that wanted to potentially win more games would have gone after Michael Vick. Signing Henne is like Gene Smith move, mediocrity.
No, he wants Henne in ease the young rookie in properly
Why let Henne go and just have a rookie and Blaine Gabbert on the roster.
If the rookie struggles you do really want to go to Gabbert????
We're clearly tanking for Winston.
Quote:So if you had to put a percentage on how sure you were the team would be drafting two QBs before Henne's signing, what would it be? And now that he signed what is it?
before the Henne signing: 80%
now : under 2%

Henne is no bridge to the next drafted QB. Henne is not the starter. He's got to earn it in the preseason. Open competition.

I meant more along the lines as a mentor/backup if the rookie struggles a la Beano the Geno Smith
If we start this season with Henne/Gabbert as our QB corps, I headed for the top of the new scoreboards.

Henne a mentor? He only knows 2 passes, backshoulder and intermediate seam passes. He also frequently calls timeouts just as the playclock is going down because he's confused. Every now and then he makes a bonehead pass right to a defensive player that makes you scratch your head.
All this negativity because we resigned Henne to a 2 yr deal to be a backup/ short term starter is just sad. I haven't seen the terms yet, but I heard it was fair and incentive based. Hopefully it's team friendly as well. We all know it's not a huge deal, but as long as it's fair to both sides, that's fine with me.
The Jags will be drafting a QB in this upcoming draft, it probably won't be at #3 b/c they don't believe "their guy" is there, but they will definitely be drafting a QB or possibly 2. That's a given.
You know, there are worse QB's then Henne out there, and one of them is still on the Jags.
This say's an awful lot too..
"The 28-year-old Henne led the Jaguars to a 4-4 record in the second half of the season after an 0-8 start and had nine TD passes and five interceptions in the final five games. And he did it without any elite weapons. He lost his best receiver (
Justin Blackmon) to an indefinite suspension, didn't get much help from tight end
Marcedes Lewis until the last month because of a calf injury, and lost his second-best receiver (
Cecil Shorts) for the final three weeks because of a sports hernia."

I understand, but he knows the system better than the other mediocre bunch of qbs out there

4 MIL per.
1 MIL more per than we paid Cleo Lemon.

Gabbert knows the system, he will win Comeback Player of the Year.
Well, at least we know he won't earn a starting spot. He never has yet while here. I would venture to guess that most any rook will impress more than Henne or Gabbert. It's hard to have two worse QB's than CH and BG. Unfortunately for us.
Quote:Turk's fumble only lead to a field goal. The Jaguars lost that game by more than 3.
With the Steelers I have no clue what you're talking about. Nick Harris had a total of 7 punts. The ball ended up on the following yard line each time:
1st: PIT 13
2nd: PIT 28
3rd: PIT 28
4th: PIT 12
5th: PIT 45 (Note: End of Quarter)
6th: PIT 33
7th: PIT 37
Never iN Jaguars territory, and in fact none closer than the pit 33 except the end of Quarter punt, which wound up being worth no points.
Against Cleveland, Nick Harris had 5 punts:
1st: CLE 17
2nd: CLE 13
3rd: CLE 20
4th: CLE 25
5th: CLE 15
Which was the easy touchdown?
well i dont have as much free time as you i will have to go look it up and get back to you posthaste. I know the punter (turk) not harris cost us 3 games which is why they brought in harris. who really wasnt much better.

You kind of remind me of Robert De Niro's character in Silver Linings Playbook.
