Quote:So, you think Cassel will be their full time starter next year, huh? Care to commit to that? No. I am using the quoyted

No. I am using the quoted poster's logic
I don't know if this has been addressed yet, I didn't read the comments past page 2, but where does this leave Gabbs? Any realistic chance he is here next year as a backup to Henne or a 3rd stringer behind a rookie?

No
Quote:What makes any of you think Henne can beat out Gabbert in Training camp again. For 2 years in a row he was not able to do it. Henne cut before season begins.
4.5 million guaranteed money. He's not getting cut.
His cap hit in 2015 if released in $0. This is basically a one year deal.

So we're keeping Chad Henne? OK. Now let's focus on Jake Matthews and Taylor Lewan and a guard like Dakota Dozier followed by drafting A.J. McCarron as some point in the draft. Let's see what our quarterbacks can do with more talent on the offensive line.

Regardless of what we think here, it's good that we're finally realizing that ANY quarterback is going to turtle up when he's facing a fifty-sack season. The only way to get the ball away quicker then the opposing pass rush is to line the center up facing the quarterback and make a direct snap into the defensive secondary hoping a receiver or tight end can fall upon it somewhere down field.

Quote:Bye bye, Blaine Gabbert.

Hope you land with a team that will let you play.
Wow!  How bad would that team be???
Quote:Sign Michael Vick .... he is much better than Chad Henne and create some serious buzz at the same time.
Serious fans want serious football and couldn't give a rat's furry little behind about "buzz"

Bradley said the move to sign Henne doesn't affect Gabbert's future with the team.  He also said Gabbert will be here competing in training camp.

My view is that Gabbert is a good, young quarterback who has probably played a tougher schedule than any other QB has since the start of the 2012 season.  I don't see how anyone on this team could beat him out.  I'm guessing Caldwell/Bradley/Fisch will recognize his talent and work ethic and let him start again.

Yeah spend millions to sign Vick just so you have a QB that will get hurt during the season leaving you will a play book that nobody else is capable of running.

If Bradley said that, he and I are true brohs.

I have

I have to totally disagree.  Vick is by far the best QB available at the moment, and can make this team competitive immediately.  No having to develop a rookie QB under fire and we know Vick is much better than Henne.   Are you going to tell me a Bridgewater or Bortles will be better than Vick Game 1 in September??

Vick will improve the Jags!

Good signing. This means the team really does not have to force a Qb pick.

Good move.  Caldwell shows again he knows exactly what he's doing.  Henne should start the season although if he's still starting *next* season, I'll start to be concerned.

All these pages about a backup? Yikes guys... its just Chad Henne. He will be our backup and Teddy will start. Championship!
I think this tips our hand for the QB we pick at 3, as well....

I think theres no way the Jags pick Manziel now. It will be Bridge, Bortles or Garoppolo.

Quote:rather have:

QB1 Bridgewater

QB 2 Murray

QB 3/ Bridge QB/ insurance QB: Shaun Hill
Murray Sucks.. Check his big game record. It's awful.
Same old TMD. Absurd expectations and silly comparisons. What's new? At least it's entertaining arguing with him.

Who cares? Bridgewater would be the guy anyway. The motive with Murray would be to draft/ develop/ trade with the idea of Rob Johnson/ Schaub/ etc etc in mind.

I agree, no use in drafting a QB just to let the oline destroy it like we did Gabbert.
