Quote:Who in the hell was this offense throwing the ball to?!?

Keep in mind the last half of the 2013 schedule was:

Tennessee x2

Arizona

Houston x2

Buffalo

Indy

Cleveland..

Not understanding the concept above.... I'm the one citing the above stretch of chedule as ridiculously easy. Something you rarely see in todays NFL...

Are you citing the above as if its difficult??

The Jags roster wasn't as bad as you are trying to make it out to be. Them winning 4 games vs that schedule was no big accomplishment.
Quote:Cleveland also had Brandon Weeden throwing.

We couldn't even beat Buffalo.  4-4 with that schedule is far from impressive.  And it's not like the wins could be attributed to Henne in any case.

No it's not impressive.. But to say we should have done better, with less, is asking too much..
The only way Henne is starting next year is if the other guy who wins the job gets injured. You know the same way he always has. To me that still sucks.

Maybe should have been ridiculously easy with a healthy team..
Quote:But there is no guarantee that he won't be starting.

This.  I don't understand why people keep saying we signed a  "solid backup".  There's nobody to back up.  HE'S THE STARTER NOW.  And his only competition will be a rookie whom may not even get drafted in a high round.
Quote:A bad backup, one that represents the losing culture we are trying to move on from and the signing of a veteran likely signals that we won't be drafting 2 QB in May. I strongly doubt they are carrying 3 QB on the active roster come week 1 and beyond.
Khan said we are definitely drafting 1 abd possibly even 2 QB'S. He said this when he knew it was likely that Henne would be resigned. Again, has zero impact on the draft.

You can't force pick a QB. They have to believe in the player and obtain proper value. Having no contingency makes a team desperate. Why would we sign another veteran from somewhere else when we already have one that knows the playbook. I find it ridiculous to claim Kitna is some sort of upgrade. You would only sign someone else in free agency if it represented an upgrade.

You are making a mountain out of an ant hill.
If this team is modeling after Seattle, they will draft one QB in the later rounds, a taller, faster, stronger armed version of Russell Wilson, maybe not as accurate or smart, yet,   LOGAN THOMAS

Quote:They signed Tarvaris Jackson, for almost exactly the same deal as Jags gave Chad Henne if I'm not mistaking.  2 years 8 mil or something like that.

I was talking about the 2012 signing of Matt Flynn for 3 yrs for $26 million, $10 mil guaranteed as the high priced FA QB signing. It just didn't work out b/c Wilson won the starting job.
Folk's, it's not rocket science.. A good portion of our "offensive weapons" looked like a M*A*S*H unit last season aside from a suspension..

Jags roster was pretty terrible. There is no exaggeration needed.

Wilson was great in college. Thomas not so much.

I'm cool with Thomas in mid to late rounds.  But the Seattle model like I said would have us drafting a QB next year, as well as trading for a quarterback.

Right, but this happened in the third year of GM John Schneider's contract, not the second year.  That's all I was saying.

not at all.
Quote:4 MIL per.

1 MIL more per than we paid Cleo Lemon.

Precisely.  Merely 1M more for our starting QB, than we gave for our backup QB.

If it weren't for your agenda, you would be praising us for getting it right this time.
Quote:Bridge gentlemen, he is a bridge to the new QB. He knows the system and is insurance.

Blaine is not going anywhere either, we have to pay him whether or not he is on the roster.

This tells me that they have an eye out for a QB in this draft and as soon as they are ready to start

Chad becomes the backup.

HeadSlap

Now having said this of course they will release Blaine tuesday after signing "insert shiny object here"

Bridge as in Bridgewater...

NH3...

He's definitely worth a shot in rounds 5-7.  The system he comes from resembles nothing like an NFL system, so I wouldn't put any stock on his college production.  With Thomas, it's all about whether or not you feel you can teach him, because QBs aren't developed where he came from.  Otherwise, he's got all the physical tools you want.

What did they get right? Henne is terrible.

I too, am sorry you are incapable of understanding.  :teehee:

Quote:The move made today will affect what moves happen in May.

Sorry that you are incapable of understanding that.

Chances of drafting two QBs:

Quote:before the Henne signing:  80%

now : under 2%

I disagree. He's a horrible passer. I want a higher floor than what Logan Thomas gives you.
