You sound like we did not have the NFL's leading rusher in 2011. Yes, we need a running back, but we have only played two seasons since that happened.

I will not complain. Three years ago I said I don't want J.J. Watt because we needed to give our current defensive ends a chance to succeed. In 2012, he was the Defensive Player of the Year but I did not regret for a second saying it would be a mistake for the Jaguars to pick him. Why not? Because I know 20/20 hindsight is a bad thing to use.

Is there any reason you don't like Carlos Hyde from a football standpoint?

This is the first offseason the Jaguars have been in the market for a starting RB since the year we drafted Fred Taylor

No it wasnt had nothing to do with our running game, and had everything to do with us not having an official starting RB on the roaster right now

I have and he looks very good to me. I am not surprised people compared him to Eddie Lacy, who is the exact same size.

"like many expect"?  I haven't heard a single analyst/scout/ or even fan "expect" any record-breaking from Clowney.

I'm sorry if I'm misquoting you, but didn't you say you expect like 6 or 7 WRs to be taken in the 1st round?

Or at least the first 2 rounds.  If that is the case, do we really improve our WR core if we wait until the 3rd or 4th round to grab one of them?

 

All of the ones I want will probably be gone by then.  Just curious

So it is all about the uncertainty of MJD staying or leaving. Got it.

 

By the time we have to make a decision about picking a running back, MJD will have a contract somewhere, so we will know if that guy will be a backup or starter. That will affect which round we pick a running back in along with some other factors.
