Quote:I'm sorry if I'm misquoting you, but didn't you say you expect like 6 or 7 WRs to be taken in the 1st round?Yes, but this is also perhaps the deepest WR class of all time. There are like 30 quality WR that are legit NFL prospects. Guys like Norwood, Evans, Herron, Bryant, Ellington, Coleman, Janis, etc. Grab one or two of those in the 4th or 5th rounds and we'd be doing better than grabbing someone like Matthews or Landry in the 2nd and whichever pass rusher is available on day 3.
Or at least the first 2 rounds. If that is the case, do we really improve our WR core if we wait until the 3rd or 4th round to grab one of them?
All of the ones I want will probably be gone by then. Just curious

Dri Archer, Tre Mason, Carlos Hyde. The best running backs Lucas Oil stadium has seen for months.

I think the real value is getting a guy like Matthews in the 2nd versus a Sammy Watkins at 3 overall.
I also think waiting until the 4th or 5th round may be kind of missing the point of the how deep the draft class is.
It has a lot of good 1st-2nd round talents... They will pretty much all be picked in the 1st and 2nd round.... Leaving guys that would have been 4th rounders in every other year exactly where they would be anyway.
I don't think we're getting a 2nd round talent in the 4th round, that's my point. We might get a 1st round talent at the top of the 2nd, but that's about it.
If anything, some other positions may slide a little bit because a dozen WRs may be drafted in the first two rounds.

Tre Mason Please.

As far as I can tell, Carlos Hyde probably will go in the first but might fall into the second. Looks to me like we would be lucky if he is available at #39. Not sure about Tre Mason.

My only objection would be wanting to pick a different position in Round 2.

I see him being there at #39 and we will pass...I don't see RB as that high of a need to spend a 2nd round pick on one anymore. There are guys available later in the draft that I feel could be a lot better value. I do like Hyde, good kid and I think he'll be a good player in the NFL. Just not at #39 for us.

Visiting Cobra, you were close on Manziel: 5-11 3/4, 4.56 40, You were almost correct on Bridgewater's height - 6-2 1/8 - but way off on his weight (214).

I agree on picking a different position at #39, but don't see why the value would be greater in a later round.

NFLN cutting away when Sankey is up to do drills is annoying the crap out of me.

Why do you care about Sankey?

Because I think you could get similar or better production from a RB taken later in the draft. That's better value than taking a guy at #39.
