Hilarious.
So you were saying in the preseason that this team was going to be bad? Because next year's team is going to be very much the same team minus 1 or 2 guys. Or are you in the "we have to move on from everybody with a contract this off-season" camp? Either way, the expectations for next season aren't going to be all that different. Look, I get it, it's been a miserable year. But this team wasn't put together with a 2 year window and all the overreaction around here doesn't change that.

Why oh why did they choose a QB in the draft that ran primarily the option in college? [BLEEP]?
I know, I know, NFL fandom is the place of heroism in dissing the home team and very short memories of success. Such is life.

I have that dude on ignore. I'd rather not see his posts being quoted because then I see them.
Lol, poor baby. Not unexpected, but certainly sad nonetheless.
I definitely didn't think they would be 3-8 but they didn't attempt to upgrade the most important position in football and I predicted a regression. Last year was a perfect storm for the Jags and they won 10 games. They had a division with Brissett, Savage and Mariota. They also had the luxury of playing Flacco, the Browns, and a bad Cincy team. They had no injuries on defense at all and the defense had 7 TDs. Including all that.... They had 10 wins.
Next season, the Colts and Texans will certainly be better. Luck and Watson are head and shoulders better than Blake. They will lose players on D because the contracts are insane and they won't be big spenders to upgrade the Oline, WRs or QB.
So unless you're banking on massive injuries to other teams, 10 wins seems like a massive reach at this point. But hey... Don't let logic get in your way.
If you are going to go the lengths of trading for Stafford, why not take it a bit further and trade for Rodgers?
Grier, Haskins and Finley in that order. Would be happy or content with either one of those three starting next year under center.

I see a team that many thought would be 11 or 12 wins good lose 5 games by 6 or less while playing with a devastated offense. I don't think 9 or 10 wins is insane if the QB play is better and the expected roster moves (some combo of Church/Parnell/Dareus et al) happen. Heck, with today's move it might be that they bite the bullet and it's BB5 who is cut real soon.
And I'm a fan, logic has no place in my optimism.

With Hackett fired, expect the Jaguars to win a couple of more games. No need to further discuss top 3 first round QB prospects. We will now be in the draft position to pick the top O-linemen or a run stopper DT or LB

Hackett is not the root issue.

The only way that the QB play is better is if they change the QB. No OC is going to want to come here if Blake is the QB.

He's more of a game manager. And would be an insurance pick in maybe RD3 or RD4. I just like his accuracy and the fact that he protects the football.
But Grier and Haskins would be my top choices. I don't know if they would have to trade up or down to secure one of them. But they have to walk out of that draft with a top prospect next year.
Especially now with Hackett gone. Bortles regressing, etc.

Hackett was the root cause the Steeler game, there were no QB designed runs and very few if any QB roll outs.
We will see.

I'm not saying Hackett is great by any means but Blake has been the same QB now with 3 different coordinators.
Are the other OCs even in the league any longer?
And Gus Bradley was the head coach....
Bortles will get one more year to prove himself. Book It!

Yup. Draft the top O lineman in the first round. Get the OC from UCF and run college spread because that is when Bortles flourished in college, shotgun wide outs spread, Bortles balling doing his thang, running, running and passing. None of this pro style offense fits Bortles. Then the Jaguars are back in business.
We will have 2 OTs and 1 DT or 2 DT and 1 OTs by round 4

They bring in Cousins and he goes to the Jets, who then draft Darnold and then he goes to the Saints with Brees and Hill.
If we could get him on a short term, prove it deal and offer him a real chance at the starting job and see how we go. He's an accurate passer in the short to medium pass game which would be exactly what we want from a QB.
How is the knee and not playing for 3 years? That I don't know.
That doesn't sound like a bad idea. But I just want Tua tbh. I'm already in 2020 celebrating our drafting of him.

Tua? Are you serious? He's not a NFL QB. He's a college QB, he wont translate to the NFL. Trust me.

Have you seen Alabama QBs in the NFL?
Jake Coker
Blake Sims
AJ McCarron
Greg McElroy
John Parker Wilson
Brodie Croyle
etc...
Uh, no...

I know you don't comprehend well but I gave a list. Bama Qbs don't translate well to the NFL.
I just went based on history. I know you know it all.

It's not an educated opinion if you can't distinguish talent from where someone went to school.
Ryan went to BC. Brees to Purdue. Wentz to South Dakota. How many elite QBs came from those schools?
