I disnt want a college coach but he is the best out of the college coaches. He's much better than Matt Rhule for example. Hopefully we get a good GM
Rumors really heating up.
10-12 million per year for Urban.
Urbans College offense is the future. Gotta draft Fields then.

That can't be right. If it's true, then Shad really has lost it.

Dilla isn’t wrong very often. He’s weirdly connected somehow.
He did state that Urban is crazy and could also turn it down.

That's basically what Gruden got to come back + inflation. Seems reasonable on the money side if you really think you're luring Urban the almighty godking Meyer out of retirement...which appears to be how Shad and the media treat him.
The Jaguars are viewed as such failures that many people believe they would actually do something as stupid as hiring Meyer.
However, we've heard nothing but unsubstantiated rumors. Not one utterance has come from official channels and I think they (Khan and Lamping) are content to keep it that way. For all we know they have hired qualified people to help them make a good decision. Specifically, hiring a good GM first to lead the search for the best coaches.
Everyone knows we're keeping Marrone.

I agree but my fear is also that "where there's smoke, there's fire"
Khan continues to show he is clueless.
If we get Urban and the team is crap next year I might just quit...

C'mon man, admit it. In your gut, deep down inside, you
know that keeping Marrone is exactly what #becausejaguars means for us all.

Source??
Dilla on twitter who pretty much breaks all Jags news first because he’s not technically affiliated with the Jags.

Considering hiring him is one thing. Paying him Gruden or Belichick money smells of desperation when it's not necessary. We have the most attractive opening in the NFL right now.
Thankfully they are just rumors.

I have full confidence Khan has learned a good deal about the workings of the process. Not to mention other owners (especially the ones who want Jacksonville to contribute more to the league profit shares) offering advice. I know that sounds a little counterintuitive, but the fact of the matter is owners are in this game for money. The turnaround of a perennially bad team puts more in their pockets.
Hiring Meyer is senseless. Hiring Meyer before hiring a GM is utter stupidity that only Gator homers can support and actually consider feasible.
Look, I'm not crazy about Urban either, but considering I'm not exactly a player or connected to the NFL either. For all we know...his name rings bells in the NFL.
I see a lot of what has plagued the Jaguars since inception in this thread: Small time, not ready to run with big boys, have some controversy, the coach or players maybe scum but hey just win, not up to date with how things run outside of rural attitude Jacksonville.
I care less if Urban comes here, brings success for 4-5 years and retires again. THIS IS 21st CENTURY BIG BUSINESS. I care less if they hire him without interviewing whoever...THIS IS 21ST CENTURY BIG BUSINESS. I'm not moving in these circles (and probably few of us are) of the Khans and other NFL professionals, so I don't know the politics...THIS IS 21ST CENTURY BIG BUSINESS.
Some of you seem to be too invested in a comical, above your pay grade, can't enjoy the ride because you think you know more than the ones in that profession, type of way. Just chillax, let them make their decisions first, and react appropriately at the results.

That translated wrong. I was mimicking Marrone.

This is how i feel precisely. well written and explained.
I am totally of the mindset of letting Khan conduct business and getting the people he believes can make this work.... i haven't given up on him yet. I am excited about landing a new GM, coaching staff and #1 pick... 6 picks within the top 100 and just to be talked about again. If Urban Meyer provides that, and turns more wins then losses - it'll prove to be the smart move.
