Well, looks like Arthur Smith has his schedule open now, though the titans got pretty badly exposed today. Essentially Derrick Henry is their offense, still you can at least say that they've made chicken salad out of chicken [BLEEP] with Tannehill.

I would still feel pretty good about Smith. He is on the rise and his offense would look great with Trevor running it.

I'd feel much better about him than Urban Meyer.

Me too.

Also, did he coach Juju at OSU?
Only thing I remember is the report about UF players didn't like culture. Meyer refuted it. Others probably know better how accurate it is.

Regarding Arthur Smith, I'm still kind of high on him. I'd still take Meyer or Daboll over him though. What I like about Smith's offense in Tennessee is the mobility the qb plays with. Plenty of roll outs which I think Trevor would excel with. I also like the shallow crossing routes the Titans run. I think those would open up DJ long and put the ball in the hands of a dangerous Laviska on the run.

The Jags are in too pivotal a moment in franchise history to trust our head coaching position to a college coach who has never coached in the NFL. We're far ahead of the game to choose an NFL coordinator who is having success in the league right now. And then to choose a GM that is not already closely tied to him or will not be at a power disadvantage to him by virtue of fame or media cachet. Urban Meyer is the wrong coach.

Do you think he called a good game today?

I don't think he called a bad game. Baltimore played a heck of a game defensively.
I enjoyed seeing henry run into Mount Calais.
I don't see Arthur Smith as a great leader. He looks like one of those guys who are great coordinators but bad HC.

Agreed completely, though I am sure some will wonder about getting away from the running game.
I'm sure it's happened but I can't remember the Titans coming back from a deficit very often. Arthur Smith seems like the ultimate front runner to me.

That's how it is for every team without a QB. He's done a great job hiding Tannehill from needing to make any big throws under pressure.

When you have Henry, you usually don't need a cannon for an arm..
I think the Jags should wait and see if the Eagles fire Doug Peterson before making a decision.

There's hiding your QB and there's running on first and second down when down 19 points in the 4th quarter.

I don't think we need another sub-mediocre team's leavins..
Especially another one named Doug..

Especially one who openly tanked on national television.

You mean instead of tanking on a few local channels like Doug Moron did?
