Oh no I hope Trevor didn't break his hand.
Lol ... Prisco on Tebow

"He's the smallest tight end on the field, by far," Prisco said of Tebow on CBS Sports HQ. "He looks like one of the kids who didn't grow in his seventh grade year and everybody else grew. That's what he looks like on the field."

He has none of the measurables you want from a tight end.
Slow straight line speed.
short for a tight end.
no length.
doesn't have elite vertical.

He's better suited for QB or short yardage back just based on his measurables and athletic ability.

To be most TEs are 6'6ish. So of course Tim being only maybe 6'2 is going to look smaller compared to everyone else.

He does have elite vertical. 38" at the combine.

According to all reports, he hasn't dropped a ball yet. Which was the biggest question mark besides his blocking ability. Not everyone has the measurables. Some get open with just heart and determination.

I just want this hooplah to end with this guy...

Bless his heart for trying to make a comeback but can't he just ride off in the sunset somewhere in the Philippines or something?

He's also looked awkward in blocking assignments and making cuts. Not surprised since it's all new to the guy.

I haven't noticed much hoopla about him lately.  I've seen a lot of press conferences with Urban Meyer and other coaches where there hasn't been a single question about the guy.
Tebow is the secret weapon. Book it! The jags are selling a lot of tebow jerseys.

Frank Wycheck was pretty much the same size as Tebow and he used to kill us every year. The man just seemed to get open and he always seemed to make the key catch against us, game after game. He didn't do it with size or speed, he just did it.

You are right and Hated that.  Some players are just clutch.

Getting open and catching the ball are the two most important things a receiver can do.  Those are skills and have nothing to do with heart and determination.

Hey good point Dimson. I absolutely hate Frank Wychek!! He made so many clutch first downs. The Music City Miracle was Lorenzo handing the ball to Frank and Frank made the forward pass to Dyson.

Wycheck didn't try to start playing TE at 34 years old though, which is what it all comes back to.

You can try and find comparisons size wise all day, the fact of the matter is nobody has ever successfully converted to TE at 34 years old (likely has never even been attempted before and for good reason), let alone being undersized while attempting it. The process happens young and still takes at least 2-4 years.

Well, he was taller and had way more experience playing TE than Tebow, not to mention he did it in a much different era. Also, Wycheck was nothing special in his first to years.

Can you name another TE that has had a good career with only "heart and determination" in the last 10 years?

He was maybe an inch taller. Wasn't fast but always seemed to be in the right place and the right time. He just seemed to will himself open. I still to this day can't see his name and not get angry.
No harm no foul with tebow. Just relax and let it play out.

That was 80 years ago.  Tebow would have had good size for a tight end in the last century.

Not now.
