"So, Baalke decided to cut Jaxon DaVille and is signing the Teal Thing to a long term contract.. P.S he has boxing gloves, so that's good right?"

I didn't watch it, but the quotes from the tweets about it sure made me want to bang my head on the table. I just don't understand how Baalke can be that dumb and Shad just can't see it.

It’s not your money so why you care what they spent. We knew we’d have to spend more to get players here and we did. We may have had the best free agent signings for this year in the NFL. And you’re whining about money we got cap space or cap will be fine next year.

I was being sarcastic

I'm lost.  The quotes from the tweets about "it?"  What is "it?"

Apparently there was an interview with Baalke.

I feel like we could have gotten similar value or performance out of other WRs for far less money... BUT like I said, can't really complain anywhere else and I think Williams is the final piece to cement this defense as the unquestioned strength of this team while TL develops.

Very well could be a top 10 unit if our pass rush improves.

I scratched my head with the Zay Jones signing until I listened to the interviews of Pederson and Baalke a few minutes ago and read this on the Jags website:  "They addressed that need – and special teams, too – when Zay Jones agreed to terms to sign with the Jaguars as an unrestricted free agent."  He's depth.  I'm confident they are going after the X they want in the draft.  And I like the Kirk signing at $35m guaranteed and a $7.5m cap hit this year.
People who get open and dont drop every ball on third down would be so nice in 2022

I wouldn't have been upset if we had let him walk. He really struggles at times. Depending on what we get in the draft, I don't think he's a lock to be the Swing Tackle in 2022.

Oh, good God!

If you go by CBSSports' rankings of the top 100 free agents for 2022, the Jaguars got the following:

6.  Brandon Scherff
12.  Christian Kirk
17.  Darious Williams
25.  Fore Oluokun
59.  Foley Fatukasi
76.  Evan Engram

Nice!
On paper. Baalke has essentially filled just about every need on the roster to some extent.

You needed to get better on defense at every level. He did that. Added a run stuffing NT. Added a tackling machine at LB. Added a solid CB that can move around.

You needed to get better at WR. He added two solid players there. You needed another TE. He added Engram there. Needed to get better offensive line play. He added Scherff.

You can't fill every need in one off season. But, he's damn near trying. I'll give him credit for that. Still time left to add more depth.

I think the draft is going to be about getting the BAP. All I want to see now though is an upgrade at RT, a WR with height and range, a promising ILB, a solid pass rusher and another versatile offensive lineman added. A RB as well.

Still a lot of work really I guess when I think about it. LOL.

He can very easily find that next month with the amount of picks he has though and the value will be there at the right position on the board. It really shouldn't feel like a reach at any point.

I'm sure that Doug Pederson, when given the choice between Taylor at RT or one of the other tackles he has in C.Rob and W.Little, will make the right decision on a starting RT.
Despite whichever coach speak soundbyte from the GM was tweeted today.

Doesn't mean much imo but we'll see. I'd be surprised if they don't at least bring competition. Or we keep Cam and Little moves to RT.

I think his appeal is the versatility on game day, at both guard and tackle spots.  He's a backup.

I think Pederson and the presence of Lawrence had as much or more to do with some of these signings than Baalke, but he is getting it done and by the looks of it structured some safe deals in terms of long term cap.

So - I'm no fan of the GM - but pretty hard to fault him right now comparing this free agency to last season's version.

This is precisely how i feel aswell.  Well written and explained.
Complain if they don't or complain when they do. I'm glad we didn't get Cooper that was the Cowboys mistake to make. I'm tired of the Jags being Captain save ah Hoe being somebody's fool talking their cap issues off their hands. Id rather we make our own just like a bunch of morons thought about Keenan McCardell contact when we signed him where are all those may days now. The Jags have dealt with the bad awhile lot of Bad. But I got a funny feeling bout this.
Gotta assume the boys are done now in FA after the Darious Williams glorious transaction? Money aside, could the player positions landed really gone any better? Of course most wanted Chark or ARob over Kirk or Gage over Zay Jones - but personal preferences aside, could it have gone really any better?
