It is kind of creepy, but I don't see any reason to object to it, and I'll continue to shop at Target.  Still, yuck.

Target is a joke.  You can get the same product for less at WalMart, Ross, Marshalls, JC Penny, Belk, Best Buy, or on-line for less money.  People go there because they've built a cute brand thru advertising, IMHO.  Stoopid shopping.

Starbucks and Target.. Both of them really.

On the plus side, some pretty cute soccer moms shop there lol

But that's really the only plus..

When my wife goes to Target for anything, she tells me that she's going to "Tarjé".. Cause it sounds so snobby lolol

Snobby people are funny lol

Not sure where you're going with this, but it's basically investors using corporations to push a political agenda.
I would also like FSG's direct take on this.

I prefer going to Walmart.  It makes me feel so much better about the path I took in life.

I don't have one, that's why I'm asking for opinion. Two things recently that I'm questioning: why are corps pushing this agenda (against the wishes of most of their investors and customers) and why are middle class white women suddenly obsessed with drag? Something is happening but I can't put my finger on exactly what and why.

Walmart really needs an observation deck with a full bar.

Probably just the millions and millions of people out there who aren't morally threatened by gay people and cross-dressers.
Most people do not operate under the assumption that there is some sinister movement underway to turn children gay, so they don't view these things the way you do.
They simply see more open gayness and an increased awareness of transgender issues than once was the case.

L2L doesn't seem to care about if more kids will become gay.  He just fears it will pave the way to a future, likely socialist, revolution.
I think additional exposure to queer people and ideas tends to cause more kids to grow up queer, so I disagree with NYC and the "millions of people" he cites, but I also don't want the state to take any kind of heavy hand against adults doing what they want with other adults.

It's pretty clear that people of great power and influence are driving a very specific agenda through our society. What we're seeing is a rapid reorienting of our culture towards a very specific and extremely tiny minority. And as they do so it's also clear that this is not their end goal, but just a step along the path. And that doesn't explain why the most popular entertainment among middle class white women is suddenly an obsession with cross dressers. It's just...weird.

There's power in social media.  If it appears that that is the popular and trendy thing to do, then all the middle class white women will go running. Heaven forbid they miss out on a trend.

There is absolutely no market for the product that justifies the over the top marketing efforts to sell them. If I were a board member someone would be getting fired for the costs sunk into creating the labeling and materials to advertise such a thing. Having said that, one should wonder exactly what in the hell is going on that major corporations are dumping money into these types of revenue losing campaigns. Someone has a reason for this and I have my suspicions about what it is.

They're just trying to score points on the ESG scale.  Not following those orders is worse than some extra marketing spend.

Blackrock is pushing all of this. It doesn't matter if the companies lose money. Sales do not matter. Now the only thing that matters is your score. If you do what they tell you and keep your score 100%, then they give you all the money you need. Doesn't matter if you are losing money, market share, etc. They will also keep any competitors that don't do the same from getting too large.

All companies are now putting out ESG reports like it's an actual financial report. If you are a large enough company to want/need their money, you either playball or lose out on all investors.

Some companies don't care but there aren't enough of them. Hopefully if people pushback enough and boycott, they can drain enough money from Blackrock to stop it.

The other option is suing the boards for fiduciary duty but they will probably just point to all they money getting invested. It may open people's eyes though on why it is happening.

Look, I know all that. But why is Blackrock doing that? It's not just to make money else they wouldn't be doing stuff to piss off the majority of their customer base.

To shape the world to how they want it and have complete and utter control over every single aspect of everyone's life, more than they already do.  Blackrock, State Street, Vanguard, etc., none of those companies can ever lose money because they own the competition too.  They literally own everything and are the biggest investors in every brand and every competitor of those brands. They rule the world, they rule the politicians, and they rule us.  Now they just say jump and watch as we all say "how high?"

Hold on a minute, you listed companies. Companies aren't people and they do not have motivations. Who are these people you're talking about? This doesn't sound much different than the eternal accusations against "the bankers", "the diamond merchants", or "the Jews."
Hamburger Mary’s is suing Florida because children are no longer allowed at drag shows, which, it claims, is hurting business. Do that many people bring their kids to drag shows?

They claim that they've tried to make their Sunday show adults only, and that caused sales to go down 20%.
They claim their Sunday show was never sexual.
The state hasn't actually tried to punish them yet, they just claim they are scared of getting punished if they don't stop letting kids come on Sundays.

It sucks that this is how the American legal system works.  Government agencies aren't there to help you navigate "what if I do this?"  By the time the government agency gets around to answering your question, you already have a problem.

They claim sales dropped 20% - but that can be attributed to not just attendance from minors but the "bad press" brought on by the state law and the campaign to pass it. If the governor of your state is on TV everyday telling people your business is bad...  I mean... not hard to connect these dots.

I also imagine their suit is partly an emblematic component of the local LGBT push-back on all of DeSantis' posturing and attempts to minimize the "queer community." Not just about dollars and cents.

I don’t think he said their business is bad, just not appropriate for children.
