The month or order of hire between coaches and draft picks was never a question.
I simply forgot he was added in 2022. I thought 2023 was Rauscher's first year because it felt like we had that Warhop clown forever.
My bad memory aside -
Trying to pin a bad draft pick on a position coach his a huge stretch, LOL.
I'm fine with moving on from Rauscher - but I'm not gonna act like I "know" he's somehow at fault for picking a bad center.
Im not pinning it on him, but I think he gave his input and vouched for Fortner. All positional coaches should have input on which guys they like.

Makes me like him less. Whether he liked the Fortner pick or not.
He was also over the moon about Anton Harrison and that looks like it is working out. He's not supposed to be a scout at the end of the day and his vote shouldn't carry much weight in the draft day war room.
I'd like to see Doug start fresh with his run scheme.
At least 3 new OL players who can move people + a scheme and line coach that implements more power and less ZBS.
Oh, naw, Rauscher was here for last years draft as well. Im sure he was, the first pick is for his oline. Im sure Doug, Phil, and Trent all got together on that one. Hopefully Harrison ends up better than Dawand Jones who went in the 3rd and who has been a beast for Cleveland and who i wanted. They both should be on this team honestly but thats another conversation. I want to see a power scheme as well and that would be huge for this whole offense. Fuaga was the best run bloker in college and Powers Johnson was the best run blocking center and we could maybe add both and that would be amazing but I highly doubt we draft either because we will go for the better athlets over the better players

Again just obvious how you have such ignorance underpinning your really bad takes. Your ideas are built on a mountain of your misunderstanding of...well, just about everything.
Don’t get your hopes up. We thought o-line would be drafted and nickle back for sure just to be disappointed.
Balkie tries to find a gem. No dumb fool, just pick the obvious highly rated player for once. The one rated that way on most teams draft board not your famously questionable reaching…..

HAHA!
Classic - isn't this the exact opposite of the stance you took on Travon Walker when I said I thought Mike Caldwell banged the drum for him??
LOL - I think it is

HAHA, show me where I said Caldwell shouldn't of had input on who we took? That's right you can't, making [BLEEP] up again as usual. With that said it didn't really matter because Baalke was going to get his guy. It would be stupid to not listen to your coaches and get input. The GM has the final word though

The draft is always at the end of April, not the end of May or beginning of June.
Yeah, end of April

Could you try to use your words to make sense? It would help those of us trying to interpret your nonsense.
whats up with all the 6'5"+ interior olinemen
Scherff is the shortest at 6'5, Ezra, Fortner, Bartch, Hance, Brewer, Little all played interior and all 6'6
Shatley and Van Lanen( listed as tackle) 6'3 and 6'4
We need a guard and a center.

Need 2 guards and a center. We need to do exactly what KC did a couple years ago. Cut Scherrf, sign 1 starter in FA and draft 2
We need:
1. Starting caliber C
2. Starting caliber LG
3. Starting caliber RG
4. Quality Developmental swing LT/RG
One or two of those could be filled in free agency. Honestly would prefer one of the top three ascending centers that have NFL starting experience.
Would then prefer the developmental position grabbed in free agency with a few years of experience as well.
I think this is a good draft where we could find a starting caliber pairing of guards and some with center ability.

Cleveland was a decent guard before he came here, he has sucked since, Fortner had a damn good senior year at Kentucky, a not so good rookie year, and even worse this year. Scherff was an All Pro before he came here and hasn't been all that good in his while time here. Really need to look at Raushcer.

I think they'll consider one of two things at this point:
1. We're keeping Cam Robinson.
2. We're drafting another RT or LT and depending on the position, it's possible Harrison moves from RT to LT.
I just don't have much faith in Walker Little holding up physically full time, and, he did get bulldozed back onto Trevor's ankle which is really where our downfall this year began. So, maybe he's bad luck to have starting out there.
Not sure. At any rate. A minimum of three new faces with a fourth to challenge said new faces and current guys on the line-up is a necessity.
Guards don't normally get drafted too highly but tackles with guard ability tend to do so. Would make our pick on the opening night of the draft a strong candidate for Graham Barton out of Duke. He's a solid LT prospect but he has some experience within the interior.
Gives you flexibility immediately. Especially if you fail to add anybody starting wise in free agency.
Dawand Jones is the highest rated rookie tackle who we brought in, went in the 3rd and is a beast. Man I wanted him, Sidy Sow is the highest rated rookie guard, another guy we brought in. Man it's sad all the really good lineman we passed on last year
