David Frum has an opinion piece out talking about how the Democrats need to be cautious. He says trying to replace Biden with anybody other than Kamala will create infighting that the party does not have enough time to heal from.

No alter ego. I don't like Trump and fully admit when things go wrong for the Dems; or when the Dems are going down the wrong path, whether it be in support of the election or certain policies....
On a sidenote I got to thinking..... If Kamala replaces Joe and wins, we're essentially bound to her in the 2028 election as well (unless there is a total collapse somewhere in the next 4 years). Otherwise, we stick with Joe, have a low turnout and the GOP takes the Presidential ticket and down ballots (House and Congress). This also allows for a fresh start for the Dems in 2028 ---- Haley vs Shapiro perhaps ????? 1588 days until Nov 7 2028. I CAN SURVIVE !!!!
I meant same screen name lol.
Ben Shapiro? Hell no. I think Ron puts his hat in ring again but 2 year gap from being governor will hurt him unless he challenges someone for senate, which I believe he could easily win.
Your fresh start in 2028 is Greasy Gavin. America hates him.
Man, imagine the entertainment and OUTRAGE we would be getting from Hollywood if meat puppet was a Republican.
Dang, I feel robbed.

Ron is done unless the RINOs survive. He screwed up, supposedly driven by his power hungry wife, and now is done. Trump loyalists won't trust him. He was the automatic nominee in 2028 but couldn't wait.
It's basically the same for any of the dems that try to step forward now. Any of them stupid enough to do it are ending their careers.

But what would you say?
Would you still support Trump if he had obvious cognitive decline and Biden didn't?

The only decline going on here is the collective IQ of the posters reading your bull [BLEEP]..

I forget the guy's name, but looking through his fund raising records a while back there was one guy that continued to pump money into his various campaigns. Not sure about his wife potentially being power hungry, but I'm sure he was beholden to this one particular individual that threw millions into his campaigns and I'd bet he was feeling pressure from this particular individual to run as well.
Lots of smoke. I think Biden will withdraw within a week.
Kamala's running mate will be a white male from a swing state.

I sure hope, but Biden seems determined to stay in the race. Right now he's living in the World's largest nursing home so why would he leave.

I think they finally convince him to withdraw and they have no choice but to run Kamala. There is no way that the party of identity politics is going to bypass a black female who is the sitting Vice President. To do so would pretty much be the end of the democrat party (not that it's a bad thing).

From reports that I have seen, it looks like his family is more determined to keep propping him up, specifically Jill and Hunter. Jill doesn't want to give up the power and prestige of the White House and Hunter doesn't want to give up the lucrative income that he gets peddling influence.
Hunter has a free Get Out of Jail ticket anytime with Biden as President. Jill's prob hooking up with the Press Secretary when Joe goes to bed at 4pm.

More like Hunter and Jill are pressing him to stay in the race for their own means. Meanwhile, the polls are showing nothing but a sinking ship. 36% approval rating per The NY Times? You can’t win with a number that low I don’t care who you’re running against. That’s horrible.

The poll I saw had 27% thinking he has the mental capability to be President.

My early betting says Andy Beshear (red state) or Roy Cooper (swing state).

If the roles were reversed, and if Biden seemed sharp but Trump was slurring his speech and mixing up or forgetting words, what would you have to say about it?
Would you call for Trump to step down so another Republican can win?
I'm an independent so would write in like Brewster *none of the above. "

That is what happens when you get behind identity politics. All they see is a black woman and not her policies. Others just because she isn't Trump.
Today the Wall Street Journal published a poll saying 80% of voters think Biden is too old to run for President.
Incidentally, 47% say they would replace both candidates. And 56% say Trump is too old to run for President.
