Today is the day this team gets back on track. We force 2 turnovers on defense and BTJ goes over 100 yrds for his first time. Trevor has a couple TDs through the air and has a bounce back game.

And a good team could easily go 10-4 down the stretch with our remaining schedule (and may win the division too). But if the first two games weren't just a slow start and we truly aren't very good and not well coached, doesn't matter what happens. We likely won't make it to 10 wins no matter what happens.
I'm largely along this line. While it obviously hurts, 0-3 is not a death blow from a record perspective. This is particularly true considering this division which I don't think is very good. The Texans are the clear favorites to win the division. They are 2-1, but their 2 wins were close games against mediocre teams. They then lost 34-7 yesterday to the Vikings. Hypothetically, if the Jaguars started 0-3, but then swept the Texans, the Jaguars would be ahead of them (assuming equal records in other games). That's not all that crazy of a scenario. The more concerning thing with going 0-3 is that we have to question whether this team is as good as we hoped. A good team could pull out of 0-3 and make the playoffs with our division and schedule. However, maybe this just isn't a good team.

6 teams have done it since 1979. 4 since 1990 and only a 2.5% have done it

If the Jags lose tonight but beat Houston next week, they'll be one game back in the division. Season isn't over if they lose tonight but 0-3 looks very very bad.
What really sucks is that Houston just played horrible so they'll be hearing all week how bad they played..... Then they get the Jags!
If they lose tonight the team will have lost 8 games in a row with Trevor Lawrence as QB. They need to win so that teammates know they can win games with him as the QB.
MUST WIN

I'll presume those numbers are correct, but I think it would be even more difficult with more teams in fewer divisions as was the case in the 90s and before. I'd probably start the analysis to coincide with the league going to 4 divisions in each conference. With 4 divisions with 4 teams each, your biggest hurdle is the other 3 teams within the division. Also, in recent years the league has put an emphasis on having more division games in the final weeks of the season and they've expanded the playoffs to include an extra team (7 of 16 teams now make the playoffs in each conference). These things somewhat erode the relevancy of the numbers you show above, not to say that such a start shouldn't be concerning to those chances, however.

There has been 1 since 2018 and they lost in the first round. It's about 1 team every 10 years for average. Only 1 team hass started 0-4 has made the playoffs and none in the last 30 years. So even if we lose to Buf and Hou. There is still a chance lol.
I'm just hoping for some solid play and maturity, just dont beat ourselves
I don’t know about tonight. I’ve got a bad feeling. Will Press Taylor continue to call plays from The Bible of Analytics, or will a frustrated Trevor step up to take command on the field?
Tune in tonight for the continuing saga on, As The Stomach Churns.

See I'm the opposite. I have a good feeling going into tonight. I think we wake up and catch Buffalo sleeping. They have Baltimore next week, they could very well be looking ahead a bit.
What's everyone's opinion of Trevor ON script vs. Off script?
I was just thinking it'd be to Trevor's advantage to run more no huddle, but then I think the Jags offensive blocking scheme gets too confused if the plays are off script.
I think Trevor will take over this game if he has to. With his legs in particular. I think they should go more up tempo and no huddle. He's a very streaky passer and needs rhythm. They need to get him moving out of the pocket. Especially in this game tonight with how bad the OT's have struggled the first two games.
We'll see what Press and Doug cook up I guess. They should be feeling the pressure tonight to win this ball game though. Just don't make the big mistakes and if you're going to gamble? It better be the best damn play call you have on tap that's executed to perfection 90% of the time during practice sessions.
I’m on the negative side again. Sigh. They have to prove this 1-7 record is an aberration
I think Doug started taking over play calling at half time last week. I believe this is Doug's first game back as the play caller because he knows his job is on the line. We will see how it goes

I have been saying it last year I have doubts about Lawrence. The other whispers are getting louder. Regardless of the contract he signed, he has to play better. Every game you can point out a handful of missed opportunities that were squarely on him. He had the Physical Tools, the hype, the pedigree, it just does not show on the field. You can look around the league right now and see more QB's doing better with less than what we have. I hope Lawrence is a late bloomer but call me very unimpressed. For every 60 yard bomb he throws there is 5 other throws that are head scratchers.

You sure have one heck of an imagination.
I’ve fallen back into expecting the worse. We’re on a 8 or 9 game loser streak, I’ll believe it when I see it going forward.

Who do you think is calling plays?
