I think the feelings here are that the team is snakebit ( no argument there) and that a longer time off is inevitable. I'm setting myself up for that... Therefore won't be bummed when I hear it's 6 months vs 6 weeks.

But with years of draft busts, especially Blackmon, it's understandable to be jaded, and sadly, pessimistic.

Hoping for some well deserved good news.

So if it's 6 months does that mean he misses half the season?

Yes
Quote:I am a founding member darling

Back when we had functions as a group

When we had a fully fledged fan club, Jags1st, and signed pacts to support the squad unequivocally

When we sent cards to the team before games, for birthdays, and other momentous occasion

When every poster's birthday was announced in board, with pages of well wishes expressed

When tapes of missed/great games and Jag items were physically mailed hundreds of miles to one another

When we were at least average

Now you youngins with your tweets, incomplete thoughts and bad semantics are ruining it all Wink

But welcome one, welcome all, we are the dear deplorable Jags

Well we have certainly come a long way since those days, haven't we?
Quote: Considering how valuable Jalen Ramsey is for the Jaguars long term future, I think it's safe to assume that the organization will smartly err on the cautious side. This compared to looking for a shortcut that could put Ramsey at much higher risk for future problems with the knee.

Like i said the whole thread, the team will look at long term and he will probably miss 4 to 6 months.
On the radio they also mentioned that by "long term" they meant later in life not the immediate future.  Supposedly the corrective surgery could prevent knee pain/arthritis after his playing days are over.

"Long Term" does not necessarily mean he needs the more involved surgery. This all depends on the severity of the tear, which at this point, all signs point to a minor tear.

The "long term" solution to a small tear, is a scope cleanout and 4-6 weeks.

The "long term" solution to a major tear, is the meniscus repair surgery and out up to 6 months.

Based on the fact that Ramsey himself didn't even realize he was hurt, just a little sore, leads me to believe this is a very minor tear.

So we are all hoping he just misses "minor long term time" instead of "major long term time" while rehabbing his injury?

Idk if you mis-typed or not. But we're hoping he needs the "minor long term"

Basically, the smaller the tear, the less invasive surgery, and less recovery. Just hope for the smallest possible tear in a section without direct blood supply.
oh - this whole thread is about nothing but blowing off steam..   Everyone is disappointed of course, but we have a real star in Jalen Ramsey.  For that I am still very grateful.

We'll just have to try to keep ourselves busy with all of the other talent that will be roaming the gridiron in Jacksonville.

All of us have gotten so much candy this off-season we are all sick to our stomachs..   This is a minor matter most likely - even if it runs longer than any of us hopes.

We are going to win the Superbowl with Khan and Caldwell.  I believe it.  If Khan can keep the money and success from going to everyone's head, he has what it takes.  Caldwell has more than enough talent acumen to reach the pinnacle, it will be more about humility.

These are great times to be a Jags fan.  Many thanks to the Great Khan!

Maybe this is one of those things where he will do the major surgery next off season and just do the minor one now and be fine.

The drama queen is strong with some on this board.
We need him in prime condition for those playoffs.... Love

Well, thanks for the prognosis, Doctor Depends.  When did the PT Barnum Clown College start issuing MD certificates from their Whiner School of Medicine?
Quote:Fowler and Ramsay both got injured during EXTREMELY limited and slow practice. Basically warmups.

They both would have gotten injured no matter how slow they took practice. This has absolutely 0% to do with strength and conditioning coaches or whoever else low iq crew wants to blame.
But, someone needs to be blamed!  The pitchfork and torch crowd will not settle for anything less than a straw man to blame.

Any new developments about Ramsey actually signing with the team?

or Yannick
Is there some concern about them signing?  With the rookie slotting, it's a non-event.  They'll get signed.

Remind me in August if they aren't signed and then ill worry. Also, Prince and House are both capable of starting if need be.

No whining, but keep pushing that agenda.
