Quote:If FBT is allowed to call people idiots for thinking Fowler should have broken up the fight, can I call you an idiot for this ridiculous strawman?
I'm calling people idiots who think Fowler did something so wrong that he could draw a suspension...for standing there.  16 pages later, my point about the "thinkers" on this board desperately seeking something to be angry about with this team (even if they have to manufacture outrage over a non-issue) because that's the only way they can validate their existence has been made.

Dante will be put under the prison for this one. This is bad. Really bad.

"I am embarrassed and have apologized for my actions for everyone involved. As a family, we have been dealing with this moment and the conflict that led to it since this occurred. The video surfacing is a sad reminder that emotions got the best of all of us. I take 100 percent responsibility for everything that happened."

Manned up and took full responsibility. Went back up a notch in my book  Smile

Quote:I finally watched the video.

What I did see. I saw a guy who was not involved in violence. I saw body gestures that appear to resemble him pleading with the others. I see him him raise his hand "slightly" which looked like a motion of disgust and resignation to the situation.

What I didn't see was the "Gentlemen start your engines!!!" motion and arm raising that so many are depicting this thing as. Also what I didn't see are any acts of violence, provocation, or criminal activity.

Without sound, nobody knows what was going on there. What I see is sensationalism trying to make more out of something than needs to be.

It is fun to watch the usual suspects cream their jeans over the prospect of something bad happening to a member of this franchise. I have never seen a real fan take so much interest, and have so much glee and happiness over negativity involving this franchise. Fan? I don't think so.
You really need to dust off your pitch fork and light the torch because you're not seeing things clearly.

Agreed. His handler did a great job writing his remorseful apology.

NFL on TMZ video of Jaguars DE Dante Fowler: "These are disturbing images and we will review the matter."

He will be lucky to play another down in the NFL after this.

Oh boy. Lets start 2016 season off the right way. The curse of the first round picks continue.
Holy cow,. 16 pages already.

Have to agree here.  He also was up front with the Jags and issued an apology immediately.
Quote:Oh wow. Dante's gonna get suspended for four games now, huh? For what exactly?

he cornered this poor little girl
I AM COMPLETELY DISGUSTED!!!!!

That this has garnered 16 pages.......

Still, GO JAGS!!

it did reference some kind of conflict with this other woman. not a random victim like some people seem to assume.
If he didn't hit the woman, drive drunk or smoke crack, I just don't care.. If he wants his ghetto trash to fight over him, so be it.. Put the QB in the dirt please..
Quote:Seroously, people are making way to much of this. It honestly looks like he was trying to defuse it and the other girl just wanted to fight. So he said okay ill let you get you *** whipped lol. I wont lie he should have called the police but i remember being 21 and two people just willing to fight around me. Id let it happen make sure it didnt escalate and then when one person was tired of getting beat up i'd say " are we good now"?.

He did nothing wrong at all.
This. The situation could have been far worse. Have any of you ever been around females who want to fight? Especially over a guy? Not much is going to stop it. What he needs to make sure of is keeping these two away from each other and it sounds like everyone involved need to act like adults. That or they all need counseling to deal with their roles in each other's lives.
Quote:First off, why is he responsible for breaking up a fight? Because they're women? Uhhh, ok. I keep trying to be upset about this, but I just can't.

What if he had gone in to be a peacemaker and the one not on his side slapped him in the face or punched him in the jewels, and then he back hands her or just pushes her away. Everyone would say, WHY DIDN'T HE JUST STAY OUT OF IT. He stayed out of it. He literally did nothing. It's not like someone was drowning, it was a fight between women. Women can fight and don't need a man to step in.

So when your mother and your wife get into a catfight, we can expect you to stand and watch after giving the "Let's get it on!" primer. Then when if's over, we can applaud you for making sure you didn't get hurt or break any laws.

Sorry, lump me in with the Haveaseat/UCFknight group on this one.

I know, right? We're supposed to be angry and rioting and jumping off the not-Modis building over this. *note sarcasm
This is such a huge story that Dempsey kicked off Jaguars Today discussing it...right after first discussing:

his work schedule,

Blake Bortles foundation,

golf,

the Combine,

leadership at the QB position,

Dan Marino,

Ram's cuts,

James Laurinaitis' dad,

Jaguars receiving targets next year,

Jared Cook's inconsistent career,

league-wide cap space,

Chris Long's potential suitors,

and

Dwight Freeney.

But right after all of that pressing Jaguars news, he got to Fowler.
This is nothing but hearsay without audio.. For all we know, one of the women coulda said he was gonna get stuck like a pig if he didnt move aside..
Hahaha it didn't look like he was diffusing anything. It looked like it was a planned out, meet me at the hotdog stand fight, with Dante as referee
Tbh, the league calling the video disturbing is a bit much.
