Quote:Tony Boselli did the same thing when he blew out his knee.  He walked off the field and on to the IR.

And in sort of a meaningless game

<p style="color:rgb(41,47,51);font-family:'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;">.@Jaguars say no info yet on DANTE FOWLER. Hopefully that is good news. Usually ACL tear known by team immediately. No MRI needed, exam.

The training staff usually knows as soon as they get hands on the knee.  They do field tests looking at the stability of the knee and they can pretty accurately diagnose an ACL based on what they see.  If it was an ACL, they already know regardless of the testing.  That will simply confirm it.
Quote:A good defense helps, but the QB is the most critical component in the ascent of this team, not the LEO we just drafted.  There are other upgrades on the defense that will assure that we are better than we were last year.  Even if it's an ACL, it's not a devastating loss.  If Bortles suffered a similar injury?  The season is over.

Other than the 1999 St. Louis Rams overcoming the loss of Trent Green in the pre-season with the emergence of Kurt Warner and the 2001 Patriots overcoming the loss of Drew Bledsoe in game # 2 with the emergence of Tom Brady,   I can't recall any team in the last 20 years that was able to go deep in the playoffs after losing their starting QB.    It's probably the only position that can totally derail a season.

Yup.

Kurt Warner isn't hiding on our bench.  Wink

<p class="" style="color:rgb(41,47,51);font-family:'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;">Team physician not always at every practice, but <a class="" href='https://twitter.com/Jaguars'>@Jaguars</a> have top ATC in Scott Trulock. Dante Fowler will get best care possible.

Quote:And if someone offers a 6th for Branch, we wouldn't do it?

We'd take a 5th rounder for a solid starting LT (because he's not part of our plans moving forward), but we shouldn't trade a unspectacular depth player (because he's part of our plans moving forward)?

Why the talk of trading Branch? There is absolutely no need for this. Clemons won't be here more than maybe another year. If Branch keeps playing like he was prior to the injury, he could be great depth. Especially if Fowler is hurt, there's no way he's getting traded.

GO JAGS!!
Quote:Fowler - hurt

Roy Miller - recovering

Marks - recovering

Our D line is gonna need to rush the passer from their wheel chairs

Remember when Bo Jackson got hurt. He was never the same.

This is the most likely scenario here.
I'm going to make a poll on what injury he has

It's not worth asking here.

Or on the bench of the vast majority of teams.

There's no question that the one player the Jaguars absolutely can't afford to lose this season is Blake Bortles.

Remember Joe Theisman? It's like that

They will make a 30 for 30 on this.

"The best that never was: Fowler edition"

I don't know. Ask FBT. He's the one who brought Branch in this discussion.
Guys, stop bed wetting and wait to see the diagnosis.  When the diagnosis comes in, remember, there is no point is dwelling on the past.

This is a complete non-issue.  Nothing to see here.

I keep refreshing the page even though I'm kinda scared to.. Hope its just a slight sprain or calf...
