Pffft...try losing your first round pick, possibly for good.

Oh well, was more excited about the changes to the o line plus the additions of Thomas, Greene, and Yeldon anyway.
Hope the guy doesn't turn into another first round bust.
Would suck even worse if one of the other rookie pass rushers from this draft break out with a monster season.... Since we could have taken our pick of the lot

Quote:Anchor, stop the madness baby. You are not allowed to be morose. You are one of the more positive, sane, reflective members of our community. If you envision gloom, gloom comes. The season isn't here yet...we are going to rock.I'm working on it... I think every poster is going through the five stages of grief...
Denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance.
I read this entire thread before I made my first post. And I've seen all five stages from different posters. I'm not sure where I'm at right now. I'm trying to get to acceptance...
Here's my conflict... I think I'm bouncing from bargaining and acceptance. You tell me...
This is Gus Bradley's time to truly show us his "juice". It's a common critique that Gus is a motivator, but not a technician. This blow so early in the season is make or break in terms of how the preseason will shake out.
Dante, I don't even know the guy, is obviously a Gus type player. High motor, high enthusiasm, high positivity.
Can Gus use this set back as a stepping stone to motivate the team? To me, this is why Gus has the helm of our team. Gus can bring this team to great things. I have faith that this can be sticking point for Gus. This can be the moment that solidifies him as the coach.
Injuries happen. But could I be bargaining, wishing for Gus to be the head coach we all expect, am I in denial of what the cynics already think, or am I in acceptance that this one player isn't the main point of what will make or break this team.
If Gus really has juice with our squad, this will be a moment that seals it.
Whatever people think of his game day decisions, and I'm one of those cynics, I think this type of disaster is what can make Gus the head coach that turns this malaise around.

Personally, at this point in time, I'm going to keep my expectations low. It has just been too many rough years to expect us to be on the up. I hope it is the case, but we can't seem to catch break. Low expectations makes for a much less depressed Jaguar fan.

I really like Fowler already. What a trooper. I bet he is going to be a great jag for a long time, it just sucks we have to wait.

This young mans attitude is amazing. He WILL be a difference maker for the Jaguars. Heal up to wreak havoc next year Dante.

Can't argue with that. He has the right attitude. It still sucks monkey balls.

Hey guys, is the Modus building still the Modus building? Just curious, no real reason. Also do you know how to get to the roof?

I don't know how anyone can take this as anything but a disappointment. When you're taking someone that high, they are supposed to be building blocks of your franchise. That also means there will be 253 opportunities for us to second guess ourselves for an entire year until Dante shows us what he's capable on the field.
What cannot be ignored is what he's shown us off the field. The resiliency that he showed in his press conference, and how he's dealing with this injury. We, as fans, we were devastated by the news of this injury. Yet, that's who we are...fans.
At worst, this is our entertainment. At best, our passion. But this isn't our life. This isn't our career. This isn't our dream.
To see this young 20 year old walk into that podium, smiling and talking about getting past this stronger and better than ever.
If we have to wait a year to see whether his on-field stuff is deserving of being a 3rd overall pick in the draft, we certainly didn't have to wait long to realize that his character did.

Looks like Fowler wasn't the only one to tear an ACL this week:
Should we eliminate rookie mini camp all together?
Quote:Broncos lose rookie TE Heuerman to torn ACL
Jeff Heuerman | DEN
(May 9, 2015 8:25 PM EDT)
Broncos third-round TE Jeff Heuerman suffered a torn ACL at rookie minicamp.
Heuerman is expected to miss the entire season. His loss is a blow to Denver's tight end depth, but Heuerman should make a full recovery for next year's offseason program. Virgil Green and James Casey will back up Owen Daniels. The 92nd pick in last week's draft, Heuerman battled myriad injuries in college and will be tagged with the "injury-prone" label for the foreseeable future.

Quote:Looks like Fowler wasn't the only one to tear an ACL this week:I'm sure it will be discussed. However, I don't think any amount of training and conditioning can prepare the body for the rigor it goes through when making football moves. I would imagine it may be eliminated in the future in attempt to allow guys to be better conditioned and in better shape once they start a mini camp. I can guarantee that guys will blow their ACL's out in the first team camp just the same.

I just think it's bad luck.

If it wasn't for bad luck, the Jags would have no luck at all.
