I guess at least we didn't lose him in the Oklahoma drill 10 minutes after he got off the plane.

Quote:I know we complain a lot about it and every team faces injuries, but seriously, you have to admit, we have had some awful luck.Injuries happen. It sucks, but that's just the nature of the business. I don't attribute it to luck or anything else. It just is what it is. The good news is that according to others around here, we had such a logjam at the LEO position that we should barely notice his absence.
Quote:I mean, who are you blaming for this? Lol, it sucks, but has nothing to do with the team. As they say, poop happens.
Quote:I absolutely agree. We've already got guys who can fill that role. I'm more worried about our QB developing and taking that next step than who is rushing the passer.
nice luxury but it's all on blakes arm.
there's still plenty of time to find someone who can play fowlers position this year

Seriously, we do have guys who can get to the QB, and there were other upgrades to the defense that should soften the blow of losing Fowler. It sucks, but I don't think it's going to have any impact on the W-L record for this team.
Quote:It still doesn't feel real? Am I in a dream? Maybe if I concentrate hard enough I'll zoom myself into an alternate reality where he did not tear his ACL.lol. Ikr? Me too man.

Quote:All I've said all along is to wait for some confirmation about the severity. I know this is difficult for you to grasp, so I'll just leave it with this. Your response is predictable. I know that's not going to make much sense to you, but anyone with a functional IQ will understand. You're the worst. Every smug comment you make in this thread is just salt in the wound as a Jaguar fan. We already lost Fowler, why add insult to injury?
It's good to see your little man crush for Gene Smith is bleeding over to other threads. Pathetic as ever. Keep up the good work.
Quote:That is the thing though. You don't just replace 3rd pick first-rounders. These picks are what make bad teams into playoff teams. If he comes back and isn't of the caliber we drafted him to play, then he falls in line with all the other busted first round picks we've had, and we continue the familiar trend of failure. We NEED our first rounders to be successful, and so far we haven't seen anything from the plethora we have had that would take this team to the next level. I hope Bortles turns it around this year, but damn did we just take ANOTHER long-term blow if he doesn't come back to be the player we expected.
Quote:Here's some perspective.
The Falcons had a player taken away in an ambulance today. The diagnosis? Dehydration.
Randy Gregory had to be helped off the field today looking and feeling groggy. The diagnosis? Heat related.
Demaryius Randall gets held out of practice today. The reason? Minor ankle injury.
Dante Fowler gets carted off the field. The diagnosis? ACL tear.....
Quote:Well lets see what we can get out of Branch and Ryan Davis
Quote:It is a huge hit no matter how you slice it. Not only does he not get any playing time this year, he will be one year behind and he may never be the same player before injury. We haven't had a first round pick who has made an impact on this team in a looonnnnnnngggggg time. No sugar coating it, it is a huge loss.
Quote:To whatever football deity governs these things....
We're sorry!
We're sorry we humiliated Marino in his last game.
We're sorry if any of us got any glee, joy, or any positive vibe from Clowney's injury last year.
We're sorry for any other thing we have done to offend.
Signed...
the bludgeoned Jaguars faithful
Quote:Well...the only solace I can take from this at this point is that guys have come back successfully from torn ACLs.
I remember Michael Irvin had a torn ACL in his second year and going on to having a hall of fame career.
I remember Rod Woodson tearing his ACL opening day and coming back to play in the Super Bowl that same year, and having several other productive years.
Tom Brady tore his ACL and came back and won another Super Bowl.
We can only hope that Fowler's career takes a similar path.
