Quote:This guy thinks Miami would be making a mistake to sign Suh, because of what it will do to their salary cap in years to come:

"However, in making Suh the league's richest defender, all the Dolphins will be accomplishing is solving one problem (that isn't even really a problem) by creating several more.
"And all that's going to do is keep the Dolphins mired in the same spiral of mediocrity that's been giving fans of the team vertigo for years."
Nice article. Thanks for posting. I really don't see the $uh to Miami rumor holding any water. I think their cap is around $10 M.
Just do it Jags. Cobb is now off the market, so use that money to go for Suh. Sure, there's always risk, but there's also reward ..Reggje White to GB.
Suh immediately makes the D respectable, even dangerous. Add an edge rusher, and we can contend.
Suh, Buluga and Thomas?
Too much to ask? Suppose so. But do something
Quote:I don't see the Jags pursuing Suh. I wouldn't mind it, but I doubt it happens.
So many other gaping holes in the roster, D tackle is one of our only strengths.
I agree.
He's going to the dolphins 60 mil guaranteed 114 mil contract
I don't understand where all their space is coming from....

I know. They really don't have much talent on their team either. Spending THAT much on one player when DT wasn't necessarily a need just makes no sense. They probably have gotten worse now. They'll finish 3rd or 4th in the AFC East. Guaranteed.

They've cut two starting LBs, two of their top four WRs, one starting CB, likely cutting another starting DT, and letting the other starting DT leave via free agency. Some of those players were way overpaid for their production, but they've sacrificed a decent amount of talent to sign Suh.
Edit: Signing Suh is also going to make it tougher to keep Charles Clay.

Well, if Suh can find a legal way to break Brady in half during one of their 2 games, they just might be able to move up in the AFC East Division.
I would just retire if I was Brady, have fun playing 3 of the best lines in the NFL. Like they said it's not going to end well for him

Considering that they signed most of the players they released or will released just two off-seasons ago, it demonstrates the way the Dolphins flow with the wind. Assuming Suh ends up signing on the dotted line with the Fish later this week, I'm going on record in stating he will not be with them for all 6 seasons of the contract. I'll be even surprised if Suh's with them in season 5.
All it takes is one team to make an offer to Charles Clay that the Fish can't match or will further strain their salary cap. Clay and his agent should take advantage of their leverage. If the Jaguars don't land Julius Thomas, I will be pulling for them to sign Clay to an offer sheet.

Or Thomas and clay? Lol Dropping Lewis. I like Lewis, but he just hasn't produced for the pay.

Tom Brady in two pieces will be enough to outscore the Dolphins Offense. The Dolphins were a great franchise in the days of Joe Robbie and Don Shula. The Patriots became the Dolphins and the Dolphins became the Patriots. I doubt that will even change after Brady retires.

I hope the Jaguars accomplish this if that's what they think is best for the franchise. But in truth, I'll be surprised if they decide to sign both FA TE's, being that both are much better receivers than in-line blockers. I anticipate one of them ending up with the Jags.
Quote:Haha exactly, we can use a "nasty" player on the defensive side of the ball, nothing would make me happier than seeing Suh absolutely pummel the media darling Andrew Luck.
Now there's a thought....
Doesn't sound like the front office was nearly as interested in the Suh sweepstakes as the fans were.
