awesome response.

they dont even realize what they're saying
Clop clop clop
Bottom line is...

as a fan base...

We are sick of accepting mediocrity... and that's what Chad Henne is.

Blake Bortles is going to be a Superstar in this league.. let him play now. Give the fans something to be excited for. SOMETHING.

I guess my question is... do YOU (I don't care what the coaches say or think) think that Chad Henne gives us the best chance to win. Don't give me some garbage about the Oline not being ready.. that doesn't matter because Blake Bortles is bigger and stronger than Chad Henne... do you HONESTLY think Chad Henne gives us a better chance to win than Blake Bortles?

Quote:This is my sentiment as well, the Jaguars obviously have issues all over the board, but when you're QB is bad, that's the most important entity.

But it's not the ONLY issue, correct?  Careful now.  If you confirm that to be the case, rocdee's head might explode.
Quote:I didn't say a top 10 QB makes us contenders or even winners, I said he makes the Jaguars competitive, and one would.

Right now, the Jaguars are only competitive with other total bottom feeders.

Competitive is a little vague but ok. So maybe we only get blown out 38 to 21 against WAS with a top 10 QB. At least then as fans, we can get to solving the rest of the issues for the coaching staff. Smile

Henne's performance these first two games will never get him inducted into Canton, and I do not argue otherwise.

I will say it hasn't been as bad as some have made it seem.

FBT has already determined for us that Chad Henne does give us the best chance because he's been watching football for 30 years
Quote:The focus of people like rocdee and you is strictly on Henne being the source of all the team issues.  That's not the case.  He certainly contributes, but there's a lot more behind the losing this team is doing than just the QB.  What's so difficult to understand about that?

No, it's all about Henne.

Football is a game of passion and motivation.

When a team knows it's trotting out a loser it plays like a loser.

If the Jaguars were trotting out someone that inspired the guys around him then the guys around him would play like they have a chance at winning.

You think it's a coincidence that the defense deflated after watching Henne for a few quarters?
Quote:yeesh, now this guy is just pulling stuff out of the air

when you have to lie to make your point, you've already lost

Quote:I'm not even sure what you're referring to here, but I'm sure in that little mind of yours it makes complete sense.  I'm more than capable of defending my position, whereas it's pretty clear you need others to handle that for you.

Neither of you are making any  points.  All it turns into is constant bickering and ad hominem arguments.  Seriously.  People are allowed to disagree without being complete buffoons.  It's really pathetic.  Just get over it.  Please FBT, don't attack me for this..... Wallbash
Yay. A second grade schoolyard fight.

No, it wouldn't be that kind of difference.

You have a competitive QB and the whole team plays different.

It's inspired vs uninspired.

When guys think they have no chance to win they play in a way that makes it happen.
When defenses know that Chad freakin Henne is trotting out there, the whole defensive gameplan changes. Now they know they can pin their ears back and pressure him.

With any good QB back there, the defensive gameplan has to adjust because if you just pin your ears back, they will make you pay.

Henne is a defense's best friend.

This is an assumption right now.  And it's an assumption that is driving all of this sentiment at the moment.  What's funny is that many of the people saying the team is stupid for not putting Bortles in immediately are the same people who are also in another thread bashing Dave Caldwell for not having a clue what he's doing as far as personnel decisions go.  So, which side of the argument is correct?  If he doesn't have a clue, doesn't it stand to reason that Bortles is a guaranteed bust, or at the very least, mediocrity continued?

To be clear, that's not my position.  I agree that from all that I've seen, Bortles looks to be a very good QB for the long term for this team.  But, if Caldwell doesn't have a clue what he's doing, it's possible I'm wrong, right?

What if Bortles steps in and nothing changes?  The line still sucks.  The receivers are average.  The defense continues to struggle.  Then what?  Who do we blame then?  If we go by the simpleton logic of luminaries like rocdee, we need to blame Bortles, right?  After all, it's all on the QB.

so FBT is that guy who attacks if you disagree?

so i've fallen into his trap?!?

my bad, man. you won't have to worry about me attacking you

At least those blowouts will be a little more competitive, but as long as they're still blowouts, we're going to need to blame the QB, right?
The sooner all you realize that this team is still tank mode, the sooner we can accept what is going on.

Quote:And that's all on Henne?  The rest of the team was poised to dominate and somehow he prevented that from happening?  Really?
The point is that Henne constantly fails to put up enough points for the team to have a winning record. I did not say it was all Henne"s fault but no one in the media or any one else believes he is a starting quarterback. He is not even a good backup quarterback in my opinion. So you understand that is my opinion! Jump on it if you like.

another indictment of FBT looks like
The difference is I won't mind seeing us fail with Blake back there.

Want to know why? Because I know he's growing. He's getting better every single drop back.

What's Chad Henne doing? Getting worse.

I don't question Caldwell, I think he's great btw.

I think you've summed it up very nicely. Smile

That's definitely what it sounds like at times!
