Suddenly the Jaguars have hope. Gabbert was a joke since college, but Bortles may be the real deal. I like him a lot. He's the anti-Gabbert. Tough in the pocket, finishes throws knowing he'll take a big hit, breaks tackles, extends plays without abandoning the pass, knows how to use his mobility, tough runner. The guy has guts to play QB and that's what you need. His teammates will respect him and the fans will love him. Unlike Gabbert, Bortles actually elevated his program and won big games against superior competition, including that historic upset against Baylor. Also, Bortles is not just a spread QB without a clue. He played in a multi-offense, has experience under center and goes through progressions. He'll make the big throws but also knows to check down to his RB. There is definitely hope for you.
