Quote:This is ridiculous.  Nobody is saying this team is "so great."  If you honestly think that, you're really supporting the view that the smarts are not strong in you.

You're one of those fans who needs big names to be wowed in order to think the team is doing enough to turn the corner.  That's fine.  You're going to be eternally disappointed, as Caldwell comes out of a philosophy that is more focused on building through the draft, and not through free agency.

You're whining the team didn't make any significant moves in free agency, and targeting Beadles as being overpaid.  His contract was in line with what you'd expect to pay a guy of his caliber, and he came from the best offensive line in the entire league.  Yeah, what a stupid move THAT was, right?

You conveniently ignore the good moves the team made to improve the defensive line, and you also ignore the fact that the contracts weren't exactly blockbusters there.

No, it's not about competing and being "nationally relevant" for you.  It's about signing big names you recognize.
What moves Ziggy?? We overpaid for a old injured Clemons.
If you don't think Bortles is a recognizable name, then you're crazy.

Several mocks had Bortles as the 1st Quarterback taken.  Ahead of the precious Johnny "Egoball"

Several people have also given Buffalo a bad grade for Sammy Watkins.

Not to mention sub par fans
Quote:Blake is a big dude, can see over the line nicely. He reminds me of Big Ben....He has a lot of work to do tho, he is raw..
Hell of a description of a #3 pick

This sounds like a personal flaw that needs to be addressed. No one likes a negative nancy, and you have clearly proven(and admitted now) yourself in this thread as being exactly that.

But who cars about the "wait and see" approach. Just blind homers and apologist think that way. The best course of action is obviously to be negative until proven otherwise right? Again, this is a horrible character flaw that you need to work on.

A Sad Situation...

NH3...
Why be happy for a avg at best qb when we passed up on Watkins, Matthews and Mack

Nobody is saying you have to be happy.
Quote:We're still in the midst of that trauma, so I left him off for now.

I'm waiting on someone to post a link showing we're the laughingstock of the league.  I haven't seen it yet.
How many national tv games have we played??/ Do we play this season??? Dont give the small market excuse either

Jake Matthews?  Really?  You're complaining about Bortles, and you wanted a Right Tackle at 3rd?  If Caldwell picked an RT at 3, I would have picked up one of those pitchforks.  Because picking a tackle two years in a row just doesn't happen.  You can find a competent RT in the later rounds.  If you can't, then you don't deserve to have a job as a GM in the NFL.
Quote:Do you know why the names are recognizable/ COuld it possibly be because they are good.  Imagine that.  The Jags actually stumble across some good players instead on Blake Borltes and the likes and them have a comedian laugh and insult anyone who wants better
I've read your posts, and it seems all of your posts have been invalidated by people way more knowledgeable about the team than you. Your lack of knowledge of the team shows that you do not do your research, so why are you so hesitant towards listening to what these fans (who do a lot of Jag studying) have to say? You, like a lot of fans, watch 1 highlight from ESPN a week, hear 1 opinion from 1 analyst, and believe that you are knowledgeable about what the Jags should/shouldn't be doing. Then come on here and make people waste their time talking about things that shouldn't even be argued or discussed. You talking about big names is ridiculous.
Quote:depends if its exponential or linear growth lol... if its linear, then yeah its gonna be a few years and will go 6-10 next year... if its exponential, we will go undefeated next year lol... stupid thread deserves more stupid responses.
WHo is stupid the guy who suports the proven idiots that run this team or the guy who questions them.

Ok maybe Im wrong for wanting to be competitive and not accepting the crap spewewed by the front office

Maybe you should work on not accepting abuse and hoping that maybe this time when he/she gets drunk you will not get hit despite ignoring the pattern

He will be better than Bortles and Austin P.  When youa re as bad as we are you need ballplayers

I diddnt bring up big names.  I stated that people hear about good players and there is a reason nobody knows about Alualu, Shorts and our other clowns
Just leave
People do know about Shorts now. He just hasn't had anyone decent throwing him the ball consistently over a year, so how he is going to rack up a 1,000 yard season and recognition without that?

But remember we have good players.  Who put Gabbert out there.  Josh Gordon doesnt have a qb.   Stevie Johnson...

You need playmakers.  OT's are not playmakers.  It doesn't matter if he'll be better than Austin P or not.  You DO NOT draft a tackle two years in a row -- especially in the Top 5.  If you can't find an RT in the later rounds, you should not have a job as a GM in the NFL.  It doesn't matter how good Matthews will be (and he may even *shock* be a bust)
Quote:Change your expectations
Your error is, I have no expectations. I'll..you know..like...watch some games before I come to a conclusion.

Rather than kick and scream like some six year old that had his video game taken away.

Although that would require some level if maturity, so I completely understand.
