Quote:Blake's interceptions

1 - Deflected off Marqise Lee in single coverage

2 - Deflected off Marqise Lee in single coverage

3 - Bone-headed pass

4 - Deflected at the line of scrimmage

5 - Leaping 1-handed catch by linebacker in zone

6 - Third and long on final play of the game

7 - Deflected off Allen Robinson in single coverage in the end zone

8 - Underneath receiver runs poor route and corner fades off to pick off Blake's underthrown ball (more bad play by Blake and the receiver than error)

9 - Deflected off Allen Robinson on last play of game

10 - Held onto ball too long and was hit as he threw (semi-boneheaded)

11 - Defender jumps out route in single coverage (semi-bonheaded)

12 - Deflected off a mugged Marqise Lee in single coverage

13 - Deflected off Marqise Lee's foot on the last play

14 - Deflected off Allen Robinson in single coverage

15 - Didn't see defender (boneheaded play in man single coverage)

16 - Threw into coverage on final play of game (semi-boneheaded)

I'm not seeing all these boneheaded interceptions. I'm seeing mostly deflected passes. If anything, I would be criticizing his accuracy on those deflected passes more than making stupid throws. He wasn't getting picked off because he was making bad reads this year. He was getting picked off because he didn't have great ball placement and the receivers deflected the ball to defenders.

I'm on the fence about Blake but his WR'S tipped a lot of footballs in the air this year. I'd say like 2 of the were bad throws.

I'm tired of seeing A Rob have balls bounce off this stone hands this year.  I know he had a decent game last week so most will probably forget.  However, for a "go-to" guy, he wasn't very "go-to" this year at all.  He's a Diva who doesn't exactly deliver (at least not yet).
I guess Coughlin is not a serious candidate.

Until someone else is hired we can always pretend he is if that makes us feel happy.
Ian Rappoport implies Coughlin's advice was to promote Marrone.

High praise.

While it is, Tom also said GM Gene would be a great GM. I'm starting to think Tom is just trolling the Jaguars at this point.

Hopefully, Tom has a better eye for coaches than general managers.

Good point. Unfortunately with all the coach speak, political correctness, and "saying the right thing." we seldom know what's real and what's the fluff stuff.
Man I just wish Tom would come back and coach here. It really sucks its all but certain he won't. What an awesome story it would've been if he came back and led us to a title in the next 3-4 years and he retires off a SB win.

As usual, I have no idea what you're talking about.

No, Coughlin advised Weaver to not fire Gene as part of firing him and others in 2002.  Not to promote him to the head role.  Gene probably had given Coughlin thorough and timely advice in his role as a scout.  Doesn't mean that Coughlin thought Gene was equipped to be the main decision maker on draft day or during free agency.  See: Peter Principle.

I would doubt it's Coughlin.  Coughlin and Marrone have never been on the same staff.  I would guess it's Sean Payton.

Could have been John Madden
Could have been Jon Gruden, Mike <3

Quote:Could have been John Madden
He has along history of monopolies and success in the video game world.  And a lot of drawings as a commentator.
It sure would be interesting if this "non interest" is just a smoke screen. For all we know, it's a done deal, and the Jags are fulfilling the Rooney rule.

Then again, it could be just wishful thinking.
