I doubt there is anyway Coughlin is anything other than coach. It's in his blood. It's what floats his boat.
I don't see a good mix if he and Caldwell are jointly trying to stock the roster.

Quote:And yet he assembled the best rosters so far in franchise history. Coughlin was the opposite of Harris; he hit with the first round picks more often than not and the later rounds were usually misses. Both were miles better than Smith, who missed on everything.
Who mentioned Smith? Heck, TMD would have been better than Smith.
Quote:I think the job preservation part for Caldwell might be the biggest reason he would go for Coughlin. If it doesn't work out he can say, kind of like he just did with Gus, "look he wasn't my guy, but I went with who would make the rest of the franchise and the fanbase happy."
im good with that, ill take the chance

Jay Glazer confirmed Tom Coughlin will interview with #Jaguars and noted that Coughlin isn't a Blake Bortles fan.
Where the hell has this been all year?

It is all coaching.

Interviewing this week
Coughlin would lend the Jags credibility at the HC spot. In recent years our coaching has felt like a joke. Having a 2 time Super Bowl Champion at the helm will change attitudes. If a player won't buy into what a champion like TC is selling, it's the player--not TC.

I think his caliber also demands respect across the league. While small in the grand scheme, that should also bring more credence to what we have in the Jags. Sick of being the laughing stock even when there are other teams far worse.
I really want coughlin, and only coughlin at this point

Caldwell isn't going to survive another failed coach, so that shouldn't matter.

That is completely absurd and akin to drafting tebow when you know he can't play to sell tickets. Taking into consideration what the fans think when making football decisions is losing football.

This to the 100th degree, hibry. Also, those calls from zebras start shifting fast, knowing who they have to face. They add up. It's his job to lose, to me.
Yeah, Caldwells best bet for his future is getting best man for job and staying in Jacksonville. If he fails then it could be a while until his next shot. I dont think hes just going to hire a candidste to please the fanbase and have an excuse while looking for a scouting job if hes fired.

Exactly

I don't disagree, but the Bills GM is about to get to hire his 3rd HC so I wouldn't count out anything if Dave can sell a good story to Shad.
Anyone know when his interview is?
