Jalen does have all world talent. That fact has absolutely nothing to do with where and for what team he is paid by for that talent. The Jags control that for the next two years if they desire. Like the man said, it's simple.
they control his rights for four years if they wish. fifth year option net year then they can tag him three times. so we can keep him for most of his prime if we wish. he would be 29 by the time we couldn't hold on to him.
I think Ramsey painted himself into a corner he didn’t anticipate. He saw Antonio Brown traded to the Patriots using outrageous behavior, so he emulated it with his onfield outburst. Then Brown got cut, sits at home without an income, and anyone who matters is expressing disgust at his behavior. Jalen didn’t expect that turn of events, but he’s already started the ball rolling. To top it off, Khan offered him bigger bucks than he’ll most likely make anywhere else.
So what to do? Eat his words and make nice with the Jags? Or gamble on losing money and being traded to a team he dislikes even more that is located in a state with high taxes.
You shouldn’t have mimicked the fool, Jalen. Live and learn, young man.
Ya know what everyone.... Minshew Mania is in full effect.
Let's table all the Ramsey talk.
Who cares about people that don't wanna be here when we got 6th round rookie QBs coming in to save our franchise.
Need him? No. Prefer to have him on the team? Duh.
But nah we don't need him. If he would have requested a trade in the offseason we could have replaced him instead of banking on Tre GetBurnedon

I've heard this debate more times than i care to mention. So how many db's have their been since jalen was drafted that are at his level of play? I mean even including years before he was drafted? I ask this because 1. you all think that this is an easy fix and 2. You're banking on our staff or new staff, to draft this said replacement and hit.
I just want to know whats not being passed to me, and also, what facts or assumptions am i missing?

Exactly this. Now it appears his narcissism will not allow him to say or do what needs to be said and done.
I do believe the FO made a mistake in allowing the trade request to even become a thing. They should have publicly squashed any possibility that he would be traded within minutes of his trade request going public. That would have eliminated any talk of it. Jalen would have had to make a decision and that would have been it.

There is at least 1 DB at or near Jalen's level of talent every year.
Is Jalen the best CB? Yeah... but there are a few guys around him, Howard, Ward, young very good lock down corners.
I'd say a talent like Jalen's probably pops up once or twice every 10 years. We've had him for 4... so I think our chances are OK to replace him with similar talent, albeit not a straight trade off by no means.
deactivate and trade him next year. We're going to get a shat offer otherwise.

Who said it was an easy fix? Who said they had to be as good as Ramsey? You can still draft a good DB to take his spot and not have to worry about all of the crap that is going on now. I'm getting sick of it. Give him his wish. Let him go be 'disrespected' by another team.

Turned down two 1st-rounders it seems.
Rightly so if they are low (meaning potentially 20th - 32nd picks). Any team dealing for him is going to have to give up a lot.

Not really. It's like holding the 4 of clubs when you have a jack, queen, king and ace in your hand. The team doesn't have to trade him, especially for lousy draft picks. IF he gets traded it's going to be for what his perceived worth is. Right now, that worth is too expensive for teams to make a serious offer.

Yeah replacing him in-season is completely different than filling his spot going into next year.

You don't have to completely replace him. You can get a shut down corner at 90% of his caliber with this defense in the draft and do fine and elevate the rest of the team with an additional pick or two in the first round.
Again, dude doesn't want to play here. It's not like the Jags *want* to see him go.

Lol, as they've won two in a row. You need a lesson in perseverance, you dont seem to have the stomach to deal with people.
You need a lesson in humility. It's not about breaking someone's will and making them bow down to your wishes. This game is about winning and sometimes you have to do things you don't wanna do to make the team better. I'd rather trade Ramsey for some high picks/good players in return who can help the team, rather than to keep him and have him holdout like LeVeon Bell did last season. We'd eventually lose him via free agency for what would be at best, a 3rd rounder. You can't keep a guy forever who doesn't want to be here. It's not feasible to keep a player who refuses to re-sign and will holdout until he is traded. That does us no good.
If he holds out he never leaves, that's how the CBA works. You clearly love the idea of surrendering a fight you can't lose. The team winning on the field since his little pouty boy act started is just more and more advantage to the team. If you give in to this so soon after Bell and Brown there will be no way to keep really good players in small markets and the League will be Haves and Have Nots like MLB. This isnt about Ramsey today, it's about the League in the long term.
THE ONLY PERSON THAT DOES NOT WANT RAMSEY HERE IS RAMSEY!!!
CAN YOU PEOPLE HERE ME?.......HELLO? ... DOES THIS THING WORK?
You let the season play out and work it all out in the off season. If he doesn't play well just keep evaluating the back every week and use IR if/when needed.

Just read Peter King's comment and he makes a good point. He sees him as wanting to be a rainmaker at the start of the new CBA. To do that he would have to ignore a long term deal with the team that he would be traded to from here. It is an interesting line of thinking as well.
