Sounds like a kings ransom could be coming sooner rather than later.
They cant risk playing him then right?
I feel like if he plays, then theres not enough action going on and the offers are too lukewarm for the Jags to care if he gets injured or not. If he gets injured then the pendulum really swings back to the Jags picking up contract negotiations during the offseason after possibly clearing out the staff.
If he is inactivated, then we can expect a strong trade incoming

Which is a bigger indictment on Coughlin as it means he agreed the selection was correct.
Preaching to the choir there. I've been the guy leading the charge about firing all 3 heads of the snake.

I'm sure it has a lot to do with how disappointing the Jaguars have been and this year the Foles injury however that combined with certain things happening around the league such as anthem kneeling, off the field domestic issues with players, the AB drama, OBJ wearing $250k watches during games when people who make 1/4 of that annually pay good money to attend games. I see these things and it just makes me not as excited for football as I was in the past.
Actually very much so looking forward to the NHL season beginning. The playoffs in the spring were great but I've never followed the whole season closely, probably because the Panthers haven't been great. I just don't see the same type of disrespect and behavior from athletes that come here from Canada, Russia, Sweden, Finland, Czech, etc.
I can only hope that more and more people lose interest in the NFL, I think it would be a great reality check for the league if ratings, attendance and ultimately money began to decline.
Agree. I think the lack of player loyalty to a franchise impacts the emotional connection the common fan has with the team. It is so much more fun when you are a kid and don't understand how the business side of the sport works.
Players should be loyal to a franchise?! Why on earth should a player be loyal to the franchise when they could be cut at the drop of a dime or they get booed off the field?
Andrew Luck retired because he was emotionally and physically beaten by this game and he was downright booed off the field.
I 100% agree with the bolded part. I haven't bought a jersey since MJD because players change teams all the time. Despite how passionately I want Ramsey to stay, I won't lose any sleep if he is traded. It's professional sports. Joe Montana played for the Chiefs. Favre for the Vikings. Gretzky on numerous teams and Jordan with the Wizards. Players change team and you can't get too invested on a specific player.
And if anyone wants to jump into hockey, come be a Washington Capitals fan!

If we have decided that there is no way back, that we have to trade him, which I will say until my dying breath is THE dumbest move this team has made, then you cant play him.
The players will be distracted, the fans are going to be distracted and split, BIG division rival in a must win game at home for any hope.
This has all the ingredients to be the biggest car crash game you've ever seen.
The thing that bothers me as much as anything with this is that Jalen keeps talking about his brothers and saying he's trying to be a good team-mate. But asking to be traded is the equivalent of abandoning them all.

Or a low first-round pick and a backup punter.
Done deal if we can get Bryan Anger back. That would be equivalent to getting a 3rd round pick (along with the low 1st rounder)

One thing Jalen was very clear about, he didn't leak it and none of his 'people' did. He seemed to make a real point that it wasn't from him.
Now obviously he could be lying, but someone leaked it to Schefter. If that was from the franchise then its them who should be blamed for all this blowing up in the media.

Shefter has reaffirmed that it came from Sweet Jalens camp.

Either way he is stabbing everyone in the back while trying to act like he's a good guy and good team-mate.
I really wanted to keep Ramsey, but it looks like that isn't gonna happen. As long as we get back a package of high picks and/or a combination of picks and good players, I'll be satisfied though. That's the way it goes when you're a Jags fan. It's always something.

OK. Suppose we buy that, he still wants it and he did not deny that. It's hurtful, but like he says, it is what it is.

Ramsey: "It sure would be a shame if the media found out that I wanted a trade."
Agent: "Yep, sure would."
Ramsey: "Whatever you do, do not tell anyone, ok?"
Agent: "Don't worry, the leak won't come from me."
*Agent looks at cell phone on table*
Agent: "Oh, crap, Schefter, did I leave you on speakerphone this whole time?"
Schefter: "Sure did."
Agent: "See Jalen, not a word from us."
I think he plays tomorrow night. I would not deactivate him even if a trade is imminent. He is still being paid by The Jaguars to do a specific job. If he "takes plays off" or tries to "freelance" and do his own thing I would bench him and make it public that he was benched for hurting his team and teammates.

I get it. This whole thing just sucks.
I had a place I worked a few years ago, it was awful. The bosses were useless and rarely turned up and there was about 5 people covering the work of 12. And it got to a point where I thought why I am killing myself here, I can just find a new job. And I did.
I think Ramsey is kinda the same. He doesn't like the coaches, hes spoken about it numerous times, but hes not going to come out and roast Marrone. I just think hes had enough of banging his head against the same wall and nothing changing. So he is.
I just wish this whole thing had gone different.

And I'm not saying that didn't happen.
I'm also saying I wouldn't put it past an NFL FO to leak something.

Throw in a brightly colored boa and some soulful backup singers so he can cry and preen and crow and strut for the cameras.
This will make him happy.
It'll make him Cam Newton Jr. Which would be the same thing I suppose.
