I am a millennial. but when one of our vendors invited us to see their factory in Germany, I saved the bacon of the other two guys on the trip because I was the only one who could drive our rental car. The guy who organized the trip was at the rental counter begging them to find an automatic car. There were none.
But the love Europeans have for those used to be rational. It isn't anymore.

My first drive experience outside of driver's ed in high school was my mom's '74 Ford F-100 pick-up. It was a "three on the tree" and I was terrified of it. Lol. After awhile I figured it out and loved it. I've always preferred stick shift over automatic. My SIL couldn't drive a stick to save her life and has no intention of learning. I told her she's missing out on living her best life.

I hear you. I learned to drive with a manual on the column.
The first time we went to England, our rental was a diesel Kia with a manual and the steering wheel on the "wrong" side. Shifting with my left hand took some getting used to.

The enhanced level of control (I'll decide when it's time to shift, thank you), coupled with the sheer power of the right drive train is what made it special.
The math looks like this (V8 + 4 spd + 12 bolt posi = FUN).
Florida isn't too bad because it's so flat. A city commute in a mountainous region takes it to a whole new level.
Oh the joy of stopping at a light going uphill and praying the car behind doesn’t stop too close.

You pay your credit card (which you don't need an ID for) with your checking account (which you do need an ID for). The PayPal response was not fake.
