This is exactly what I do. I carry a Big Skinny wallet now with nothing but the essential cards. Although lately it’s been thicker than usual because of some recent, um, cash transactions. 

I’ve never had any problem remembering my SSN. Then again, in the military it’s your second name.

I try to carry just my essential cards. It's just that I have like 25 of them and I need them all. I don't wanna be unprepared.

Worries about an electronic device the government can't hack getting hacked. Doesn't worry about carrying all his hard copy identification in a leather wallet on his person.

Makes total sense...

My mom thinks the same way, but she is 73. I think she even has her passwords on post-it notes next to monitor.
