That article's hilarious.
First it correctly points out that the tax increase is only for people with income over a million dollars.
Then it gives an example, where it says a worker has used his wages to buy a stock.
We have a word for people who earn over a million dollars a year, and it's not "worker."

That article's hilarious.
First it correctly points out that the tax increase is only for people with income over a million dollars.
Then it gives an example, where it says a worker has used his wages to buy a stock.
We have a word for people who earn over a million dollars a year, and it's not "worker."

You couldn't be more wrong if you tried...... My Uncle, who is a self made millionaire took over the family business when his Dad (My Grandfather) had a heart atack. He litterally built that business from the ground up. He is still involved in the day to day aspects of it. Sure, he has my cousin and brother doing some of the work but..... He still handles the hiring, firing, the contract negotiations and the general day to day aspects of the company. He busted his [BLEEP] (and still does) to get where he's at today so.... Shut the hell up, you have no idea what you're talking about..... He has always been a real go getter and and always will be (he dropped out of HS at 16) so...... Either you work for what you get, or you toil for someoone else until you die or retire.

Your uncle is a businessman.  He works, but he's not a worker.  I taught some folks stuff at my job the other day.  But I'm not a teacher.
I'm pretty sure my boss is close to that million dollar threshold.  He might work harder than me some days. He certainly works longer hours, for what that's worth.  But I'm the worker, and he's the business owner.  The essential thing about his situation is not that he works, because everyone else in the office works. The essential thing about his situation is that he owns the place.

As for me, maybe I took some risks and started a business, but it just didn't work out. Or maybe I actually am a business owner as a side hustle.

I'm not getting I to this argument ... but I will say ... in general ... the bosses have the burden of risk ... and that why they get paid. If I open a pizza shop with my own cash ... it's my sole risk.
