Quote:I'm gonna wait for more info we have some people saying we havent contacted him, then others saying we have.

It just makes no sense if we didnt, we have the most cap room in the NFL and its a need, we would have to at least see what we can do.

If we dont then what a joke, we chase an avg player like Vernon but not a guy thats an all pro player
Vernon was 25, an ideal fit at LEO, etc. We have Fowler and nothing else at LEO. Think it's fairly obvious why we wanted Vernon, more so than Norman. Our CB depth chart is fine. We have a whole draft to add to it. When Colvin gets back we have a rock solid top 3.
Quote:Yeah totally.

As fans we want the big names and the attention of doing something like this,

Dave knows what he's doing, let's not all act like we're the GM here and whatever we want is the right move. If Dave and the coaching staff think he's a good fit/think he'll continue his play here and is worth what he's asking AND wants to come here, he'll be a Jaguar. If not, than he won't.

Lol, its not the big name bro, its the big talent. He instanly becomes our best defensive player, so why not go.for it.
Quote:BCC is having an utter meltdown right now...lol.
That's surprising

How is our CB depth fine? Prince is average, Colvin suspended and average right now. Gratz and Mccray terrible. Yea, we fine.

Because Dave has such a long history of building winning teams. . .

Because he's going to turn 29 this year, I think people need to realize he isn't going to be at this level long term. Like I said, there was a statistic I saw that said there is only two CB's over the age of 32 playing right now.

I want Norman like everyone else, but CB isn't some massive need for us. Could we use a shutdown guy to pair with House? No doubt, but we aren't just going to toss money at any good player that hits the market. They know what we need and they know if the player makes sense for us.

Ramsey is pretty good. Will Alexander. Eli Apple. Artie Burns...

Bet we walk away with a DB in rounds 1 or 2.

They aren't banking on Prince being healthy. They know what they have in Colvin (hence signing Prince)

He doesn't have much of any history. Except blowing up a team and starting from scratch and looking pretty good heading into his 4th year, IMO.

We have 8 draft picks, 5-6 of which will be defense. House is an above average corner, when Prince has been healthy he has been an above average corner. Colvin is a solid corner and moving into the slot. You take into account how long our corners have had to cover with our non-existent pass rush, we are solid. We also had Cyp/Sergio Brown helping in coverage from our safeties last year. Getting a ballhawk like Gipson will help immensely too.

Pass rush is what needs improvement, that was our problem last year.

Yep. Anytime someone (coach, GM, owner) doesn't do what their blog says, they flip out.

Alfie, Ryan... they are all the same over there.

Kinda sad.

This is his first shot, and this is the most promising roster we've had in a long, long time. Tell me the last time we had a true franchise QB, one elite WR and another very good one that's on his way to being a top level receiver, a top 10 level offense with upside to get into the top 5, and gaining very solid talent to the defense.

Seriously, he's been the GM for 3 threes years and broke this team down. How the hell do you expect him to have a winning team so far? Only last year you could argue it, but he focused on getting offensive talent in first couple drafts and our top pick last year got hurt. That isn't on him.

So far, he's built a top level offense. Now, with Fowler and this FA haul and soon to be this class, we'll see where the defense stands. We aren't far off. That's obvious.

@charlesrobinson Source says Josh Norman will approach free agency carefully. Money, city, team makeup, coach, ownership - it's about right combo, not just $

That site is unreadable

Yeah....

I really don't know why I go back....

I guess they break Jags news sometimes before anyone else....

Eh, not sure about that one.

It's all the same on that site.

The Jaguars need to draft/sign this player or not draft/sign this player.

Someone disagrees in the comments and gets attacked by Alfie and his overweight hipster army.
@mjtiscione The most cap space. ✔️

A need at CB. ✔️

Great CB is available. ✔️

1/3 of the teams call about him. ✔️

Jaguars don't call. ✔️

Go #Jaguars.
Quote:Ummmm.....we don't play a man coverage scheme. Josh spent very little time in a true man to man coverage D.
we run a cover 3 with man principles on the outside... go watch how house played this past year, there was a reason a lot of times we matched him up with the other teams top WR and he was almost always in coverage when that guy was thrown too, the outside guys in our seahawks style cover 3 are basically in man coverage..

You spend all day on the Jaguars message board whining about it ✔️

Yup

I dont see how anybody can say our CB depth is fine, Prince was signed to a 1 year deal for a reason, I like Colvin but he is overrated on this board, House is good, the rest is trash.

And Dave has made good decisions but he has also made mistakes, like I said before we need all the pieces we cant get, we can get stuck in the we have to only sign guys 24-26

He's talking about Carolina. Znation is a Panthers fan.

He's saying Norman rarely played true Man in Carolina.
