@jasoncole #Falcons in on CB Josh Norman along w/ #49ers, #Bucs, #Dolphins & #Bears. Bidding likely to get north of CB Janoris Jenkins (5 yr, $62.5M)

Yeah, he's not coming to the Jags. Let's move on.

I wouldn't sign him if he wuz on the dolla menu
04-21-2016, 04:04 PM
Yeah, we don't really need a guy like Norman in our back field. He's way overrated. We have a top 5 defense, and there's really no room for him. #teamisbuilt

Quote:So let me get this straight. We threw the house at Vernon, a guy that wasn't even that good and nowhere near worth the amount we offered... But we won't throw LESS money at an all pro CB? A dude that kept #1 receivers contained all year long? Are we actually fine with relying on injury prone Prince, supsended Colvin, bubblegum Gratz, and a below average McCray? Signing Norman would almost guarantee a win against the Packers, because Jordy Nelson will be the reason why we win or lose.
I understand though, it's fine to be mediocre. Why would you ever try and get a true shutdown CB for your defense? Why would you try and speed up this process and shutdown receivers like Hopkins and TY Hilton? Who we have to play twice a year, and they ALWAYS find a way to burn us no matter what.
Priorities bub. Some teams value spending big money in certain areas more than others. Bases on Vernon it looks like Dave is in the Gettleman camp where he is ok with solid corners and using that big money in the trenches. The better your d-line is; the less work your corners have to do.

It's juuust possible that he was being sarcastic.

Yeah I don't think he is coming to the Jags either. It does seem odd however that a few of these teams that have "shown interest" according to these writers have now been to said to have no interest at all. Part of me thinks that everyone is guessing, and that no one knows what the hell is going on.

And now we've been linked to Norman by @AaronWilson of NFL Network. He says we have inquired about Norman.

@AaronWilson_NFL Giants, Jaguars, Dolphins, Buccaneers, 49ers, Titans, Jets, Bears, Steelers have all inquired about Norman

KDawg, plenty on NFL Network also hammered the table for us to draft Tim Tebow.

For all we know Caldwell said "Hey 15m a year for 4 years, right now" and Norman just didn't want to play for the Jags.

@jasoncole #49ers and #Redskins viewed as top two contenders for CB Josh Norman. Price expected to hit $14M per year. Decision expected by Saturday.
